OS X Lion was already released a couple of months ago, it just has many touch gestures implementations and some new feauters like lounchpad wich shows you all the applications installed, and mission control. Il costs about 23€. In my opinion Lion isn't very different from Snow Leopard. Now they're going to release iOS 5 wich is only for iPad, iPhone and iPod Touch. So Microsoft isn't warried about Apple
At school there are a lot of students who say windows is crap and who use osx or linux. You know, fanboy stuff etc, one said "at least someone with some sanity" when the teacher took his macbook. Nothing wrong with it if they thing windows is crap, but I'm pretty sure I can do more with windows than they can do with mac. I'm studying informatics and we use subversion to put our java code on a server. svn is a cmd app and half of the mac guys calls the cmd "a black screen with a bunch of letters". Common, if you don't know what the cmd is you really know to little to have the right to say that windows is a crap OS.
Actually I use both Windows 8 and Lion, OS X has its own Cmd which is called "Terminal" and a lot of applications are designed for both Windows and Mac. I prefer the way you install new apps in a Mac OS (just drag 'n drop and you're done).... But I prefer Windows 8 the best, Hybrid boot is a beauthiful invention; now Windows 8 is fast and reliable, has Full screen Apps, IE10 supports HTML5. You have all you need!
I would like to see some "special" build of Windows for MSDN/Technet where they remove alot of Compatiblity and legacy code, basicly a "test" build to see how much they can CHANGE Windows, i mean since 95.. Windows is is still windows, basicly no Windows version removes legacy support, there is a reason Windows is ridiculous big, MACOS/Linux is small as they don't ship with million lines of legacy code hardly anyone uses anymore. I mean if MS wants to be risky, at least get rid of all Legacy api, change all old Controls to look good, improve the Win32 Api, make it one with WinRT. Metro is all great and blah, but why isnt Microsoft overhauling and extending the Desktop API completly, i want to see what they do with Metro for the Desktop (the easy to install, deep os integration, sandboxed, Power consumption controlling) Windows needs to change deeper, just adding a second user interface will not cut it in the next years.
Let me not agree with you...Mac OS X is better than WDP....is a complete OS, WDP is not even beta phase...then I-pod have a lot a peoples in comparation with Window based phones or tablets....
canouna already mentioned that there will be a delay(pg.2, post#11), so we just have to wait.........
I just love my WDP install. It's fresh, it's stable, it's fast as hell, it's new. Yeah, just love it. Going to install a BETA of course, tho. ;]
can you elaborate on " fast as hell " i had installed WDP on my ssd,and really i saw no difference in speed from windows 7 ultimate x64
I see a difference but I attribute that largely to the fact I don't have 100 programs or more installed on Win8 8102 as I do in Win7 ... yet ...
So Beta soon as well, because in 2 weeks the programm is closed! maybe after that Beta release soon, last October week? I don't know just a guess, but you know more
