Works fine for me. I'm running it as a separate .exe file, not with the "debugger" setting, in case that makes a difference.
it is probably not possible to get localized MUI file for this tm.exe by extracting the language pack or is it? or maybe MUI from W7 (x64 + x32) can be used?
Learn how to use the Task Manager. You don't know how it can be used. Or use the new one - it was created for guys like you
It is possible. Rename the MUI file into tm.exe.mui and place it in appropriate folder, e.g. c:\tm\ru-RU\tm.exe.mui indeed
So you have renamed the file from taskmgr.exe to tm.exe? mmm... ...WinPE, ah, so it will be another ADK installation again In which one? lp.cab WinPE-DismCmdlets_ru-ru.cab WinPE-Dot3Svc_ru-ru.cab WinPE-EnhancedStorage_ru-ru.cab WinPE-HTA_ru-ru.cab WinPE-LegacySetup_ru-ru.cab WinPE-MDAC_ru-ru.cab WinPE-NetFx4_ru-ru.cab WinPE-PowerShell3_ru-ru.cab WinPE-PPPoE_ru-ru.cab WinPE-Rejuv_ru-ru.cab WinPE-RNDIS_ru-ru.cab WinPE-Scripting_ru-ru.cab WinPE-SecureStartup_ru-ru.cab WinPE-Setup-Client_ru-ru.cab WinPE-Setup-Server_ru-ru.cab WinPE-Setup_ru-ru.cab WinPE-SRT_ru-ru.cab WinPE-StorageWMI_ru-ru.cab WinPE-WDS-Tools_ru-ru.cab WinPE-WinReCfg_ru-ru.cab WinPE-WMI_ru-ru.cab EDIT: I have found it: in: c:\Program Files (x86)\Windows Kits\8.0\Assessment and Deployment Kit\Windows Preinstallation Environment\amd64\WinPE_OCs\ru-ru> in: lp.cab in: amd64_microsoft-windows-l..skmanager.resources_31bf3856ad364e35_6.2.9200.16384_en-us_480312d945e57113 BUT it still is NOT localized (MUI is same as US MUI) ) Or is it another copy somewhere?
But I have discovered that trick via IntoWindow. Regarding to IntoWindows, it is more fair to mention them. However, IntoWindow site should mention the original founder, if they use his work
thnx for another useful tool. i read your software review first at askvg yesterday night and today at ghacks website. and now it has been featured at lifehacker as well. so congrats.
Here is the proposal for another nice feature: When I installed W 2012 Server, I have noticed, that it is "more talkative" at startup (W8 just writes "Please wait" then "Welcome", but Server also writes "Loading services", "Preparing desktop" etc.") It is also case at shutdown (W8 just writes "Restarting", but Server writes also "Shutting down services", "Logging off the network" etc.). Do you think you can turn on those more detailed information on W8 Client somehow?
