Does anyone have any idea whether this would work? Disable UEFI and boot usb drive windows 7 installation. Run the loader. After installation, re-enable UEFI. Will this work?

    AFAIK UEFI boot needs GPT.

If you really want to use UEFI then I'd suggest using a BIOS mod or installing the Enterprise edition and activating it with Cody's MS Toolkit. That or just use Windows 8 and activate it with a KMS tool of your choice.

Sadly that doesn't work, because Windows 7 doesnt let you install on a mbr partition if you boot it up in UEFI mode. If you boot up legacy, you won't have a UEFI Windows...

Yea, that's kind of the point. The loader doesn't support UEFI at all so the only way to use the loader is to boot into legacy mode and install Windows.

Like I've previously said, if you really want to use UEFI then it'd be much easier to just install Windows 8 and activate it via Cody's KMS toolkit.

    Hey
I've got a Gigabyte UEFI DualBIOS mobo, a 120gb SSD and 1TB HDD. May I convert the SSD into MBR and then install Win 7 and your loader? I have no idea yet wether the HDD is MBR or GPT, but does it matter? Can I for example have the SSD which the OS will be installed on and using MBR and the HDD using GPT, or will they not work together that way? And later, if I want to install with UEFI, can I just use the same lines in cmd but write "convert gpt" instead to convert it back to gpt?

I am doing a new build with a Asus Maximus gene-7/gen 3 motherboard which has UEFI ( never heard of it before today ) :)
I have used Daz's loader in the past with no issues but i find myself here as i am having an absolute nightmare with this atm.

the first go today i installed the SSD and proceeded to install windows 7 as normal then went and used the version of Daz'z loader that i had which was V1.6.9
The loaded said all had went ok and the PC restarted , however on the restart it just went in a rebooting loop.
i was able to get out of the rebooting loop by using the instructions from the faq.

    • Boot up the PC from your Windows installation disk
    • Press and hold SHIFT and then press F10
    • Input "bootsect.exe /nt60 SYS /force" (without quotes)
    • Restart the PC/
i then went and downloaded the lasted version of loader from the site but when i used it it just sticks at
"Preparing - Please wait" for up to a few hrs after which stage i have to exit it but when i restart the pc it goes back to the rebooting loop untill i do the above again.
i have tried the above quote at the top of my post and followed it and installed the loader again ( latest version one )and it is still just hanging there for hrs now saying preparing, please wait. so obviously i have made a mistake somewhere , most likely in one of the settings somewhere in the initial formatting or bios.

    please help!! :)

"Preparing - Please wait" is a message I don't remember adding. In fact I'm almost positive that it's not within my app, so did you download the loader from one of my links?

As for your issue, you might need to disable type 4 memory in the advanced tab before installing the loader. If that doesn't work though then using the legacy mode should.

Daz thanks for the fast reply much appreciated.
I downloaded it from the solid files link in your signature , but i did however make the mistake of not downloading it from the DIRECT LINK just below the windows loader link that i did use along with lots of others by the look of it

    Downloaded 1566347 times

i have now downloaded the correct version from the direct link and tried it and it worked 1st time :) , however just to be sure i'm gonna reinstall windows 7 in case the last installation got compromised and it was a totally empty installation with not even any updates done.
Fingers crossed and thanks for the help :)

You need to use legacy (BIOS) booting and mbr partitioning to use Windows Loader.
If you really need to use UEFI booting, try windslic

Ive had problems with an acer aspire laptop(removed windows 8.1) trying to use the loader because of the gpt system up partition, which sets itself as the active partition.Ive even removed the hard drive and wiped it clean with another pc ,formatted it and then set it as mbr.The laptop bios is set to legacy (uefi and secure boot disbled)so has no problems running the windows 7 disk, however when trying to install windows 7 the message STILL comes up that windows 7 cant be installed on an mbr partition on an efi system (or words to that effect). The only way it allows you to install is to recreate the gpt system partition and the microsoft reserved partition.Windows 7 can then be installed on the 3rd ntfs partition. However the loader wont work then.Gotta be something to do with the motherboard?

I downloaded windslic but it seemingly doesn't support Gigabyte motherboards (I only see an "Acer" in te dropdown menu and everything else greyed out)

My goal is to Native boot VHD with Win 7 x64 Ultimate on a new Toshiba UEFI laptop. What Win 7 activation method would work?
