The only difference is the letters LTSB (and where they stand for) and that there are no apps on it. It's not different at "core" level. MS made it for specific use.
And yet Windows Server 2008 ran better than Windows Vista despite the fact people claimed there were no differences at "core" level. I'd gladly would have bought a LTSB version of Windows 10, it comes without crap and it's more like Windows 7. But since there won't be a consumer LTSB, I sure as hell won't touch Windows 10.
In the range of Home > Pro > Education > Enterprise > Enterprise 2015 LTSB the only difference is what are the features, no less no more. The first three (after Home) editions can all be extracted/converted from the Home index, and LTSB is stripped and Upgrade blocked enterprise (to be short and simply said).
Yes, except that non-LTSB is transmitting such an amount of Data to MS that it leads up to create almost perfect personality profiles and almost revealing full identity of all its users and furthermore opens the OS permanently up to manipulate it at MS´s (or U.S. authorities ?) free will with almost no chance of even some small procrastination or intervention, yes, except from that it´s identical to LTSB. You can fool and soothe yourself by claiming that MS is phoning home since many years ago but that´s simply a lie to yourself: Data transmission of Win 10 has exploded not only in quantity but also quality. In some respects Win 10´s behavior already can be compared to eavesdropping by planting a bug in your room or workplace. Just imagine what this data is worth to MS: Selling info to Resellers exactly tailored to your consuming preferences, selling health insurances info about your drug usage and abuse, tailored ads corresponding to your age, sex, profession, education, intellectual level even political or sexual orientation and preferences or a warning to the cops....
Yeah, would be a real nightmare ! Just imagine you wanna enter a golf club and they simply say: "Oh, no, it´s Mr. Desmond confusing a putter with a plow ! That´s not gonna fly here. Hone your golf skills and ask again for admission...in a year or so". Say thank you to to this bald, new MS CEO guy....
someguys really posted things like "ltsb is the most stable os". they really think that it is different os.
Which is a huge shame, I for one don't want a Phone OS on my computers. I want a desktop OS! Who even came up with this non brilliant idea to begin with? I guess people like me who want a desktop OS is in minority because obviously they dig their Phone OS idea deeper and deeper for every new release and soon the days of desktop OS like Windows 7 will be a faded memory.
Wath's wrong in that sentence? LTSB is based on a long time support kernel, which means less surprises, it has less crap running under the hood, less frequent updates and so on. So is pretty safe to say that is more stable, and also that LTSB is, practically, a different OS
According to this metrics. Win sever 2016 is just W10 with a couple of tools and services added, and so on. No matter of what you MS fanboys are arguing. The LTSB is a different thing, which has a bunch of advantages over the natively dirty Pro and plain enterprise. Especially for not such technical users who don't want to waste their time doing the "ghetto LTSB" starting from the 105xx and following releases.
I don't get it when one is in a discussion such judgemental (for lack of a better word) arguements or words are used. Why always degrade to terms like "MS Fanboys" or "Ghetto LTSB"? I really don't get it...
How is LTSB any more "acceptable" with privacy versus regular Windows 10, and what are these amazing "advantages" besides getting updates a year late? You LTSB guys are just running full damage control after you got BTFO by no 10586 update.
