yes, i have noticed that and that's why i now use his script everytime i do a clean install, it's really a great script and i discovered it thanks to you
16299.xxx iso's are pretty much AIO's, i only added enterprise from the VL iso to the OEMRET client iso and updated the indices. I have to use ei.cfg because else it won't run scripts during OOBE.
Wow! Been away for a while and now I see 7 pages worth of discussion on this I definitely need to do some catch-up reading here. Like what's this genuineticket.xml Since I never really liked the idea of upgrading an OS (as opposed to a fresh installation) - is there any way to 'switch' between activation methods? For example, I can use Daz to activate 7, then upgrade to 10, then create/get this genuineticket.xml or generate a HWID - which I can then use for a fresh 10 installation/activation (given that the hardware will remain the same - so will the HWID...right?) Just thoughts! Don't know if feasible.
I installed 8.1 pro x86, activated using MTK, upgrade to 10 ver 1709 x86. Win 10 is not activated but I can do windows updates and personalize setting. But waited for half a day, win 10 is still not activated, it says unable to reach windows activation servers. Could it still be activated?
if you are able to install updates through windows update that means that you logically have your machine connected to the net. Is it the case ? if so, yes windows 10 should be activated. Reboot the machine and see what happens.
For KMS activated Win 8.1 it needs to use 10586 version for Upgrade to get the HWID activation. Then you can clean install or upgrade to later builds.
Yes, sir. Im connected to the internet. I have rebooted many times but still not activated. But, no watermarks, can do windows upadate and can personalize settings. What else should i do to make windows shows that it is activated?
i didn't know that, thank you for this information so if i follow your logic, that would mean that if win8.1 was activated with a legal key, you could have upgraded using any win10 version including the later builds and having HWID at the end. Correct ?
Confirmed. Reroute is only needed for KMS activated Win 8.1 (NOTE: afaik 10240 and 10586 can be used).
