Hi all this update is killing me I called MS they downloaded it agene for me .I get freezing and bsod every time I play a game and sometimes at idle I updated, repaired every game I have . I am tempted to buy windows10pro and block updates if I can. sorry for the rant I am just frustrated.
Did you do any (unauthorized) modifications to your system using third party tools, scripts, registry hacks, registry cleaners or even apps not meant for W10? Though Windows updates are known to cause occasional problems, this is rare and grossly exaggerated in my view. Moreover, when it occurs, it’s invariably rectified in the subsequent update. Always in my view, by far the most common cause of problems after an update is because the latter doesn’t find the system as it expects it to be and consequently the changes it brings about aren’t fully applicable and can cause damage. Because the problem is manifested after an update, it appears as if it’s the update’s fault when this is just doing its job, but the “ground was moved from under its feet” by system mods. Of course I’m in the wrong board to recommend caution against system mods, but a little prudence should help restore a healthy balance.
This fear of spy conspiracy by many has created this sphere of fear on people that many have resorted to tweak and block processes needed by the system to function properly. Many are now faced with different regrettable issues. I think most of the uncommon problems are due to this single fear despite troubles with Windows 10 failing supports for old systems and some new hardware.
Indeed... Whether its may or may not be applicable here in this topic but very true the point raised by you is.. Bloggers simply copy paste things without any knowledge of what they are writing, ends up giving half / incorrect or even wrong information, and people without knowing what is the issue and what exactly to look for ends up landing there with their search and ends up screwwing the system..
Continuing from where I left off in my preceding post, the solution to or prevention of problems is not blocking official updates, in fact the opposite. You can’t run away from updates for ever, they’ll eventually catch up with you, and all you’ve gained in the meantime is having a compromised system as regards security and functionality. No, the correct problem-preventive measure is to use caution in the use of any system-modifying tools and procedures. Even if problems do not appear immediately after, they can still do so at any time in the future, especially after an update, or when you try to use a rarely accessed function. Yes, you’ll hear people expressing their happiness after turning this off or uninstalling that or changing the other. Yet, help boards such as this are full of posts about odd problems, some of which nobody heard of before. And these are not the fault of updates. Conclusion: By all means, adjust your system to your personal preferences using the full arsenal of on-board means, even supplemented by official MS tools meant for it. But if you go beyond that, you enter an uncharted territory, where anything unexpected can happen at any time, and getting help for it would be extremely difficult. End of lecture.
