no body tries to guess windows (C), Microsoft (R), that (C) symbol will of course not be displayed in CMD correctly, :O
@mtrai Because we are Windows Insiders, we take bugs with Windows 10 Insider preview version. It's normal, and the product is not really finished because the G.A final user's take Windows 10 RTM and updates cumulatives.
that may be true for you but you can't make the assumption that is true for everybody. it's identical for me, no change before and after upgrading.
so this OEM is the one that come with Dell, HP, Lenovo,Samsung......i dont see point in d\l if is the same we have from the insider program?
how to install this and activate ? My laptop doesn't even show "windows 10 ready" notification in the task bar. How to get that ? what is the update that I need to install in order to get the notification. I'm on windows 8.1 Thanks
once I updated and got that notification , am I eligible to download this .img file and install and activate windows ? Thanks
Yes, but the 29th July G.A for Windows 10 you can update you Windows 8.1 to Windows 10. And after that you can download ''officially'' iso on Microsoft website or Windows store, this iso release the G.A (29th July) including all updates has been deployed for Windows 10 RTM. The img file actually is file leaked come from a oem it's not officially supported by Microsoft actually. But you can take this img. After download just upgrade Windows 8.1 to Windows 10 with this img file and use you Microsoft account on Windows 8.1 before upgrade because you key is linked to you Microsoft account after you upgrade to Windows 10 (not clean install). At the end of settings use you Microsoft account. After this only you can take clean install.
No... just "Microsoft Windows", although in a distort way (something like "Microsoft Weendous). "Finestre di Microsoft" would sound ridiculous, unless Microsoft entered the business of window fixtures.
Really? I guess it's linked to hardware otherwise you can activate hundreds of PC using only MS account. Am i right?
Thanks for valuable info. But I wonder will they release the update in .iso format on 29th ? I have 3 Pcs and if I have to download the update for each machine it'll take 4gb x 3 = 12gb of my bandwidth
