Run a Ubuntu live cd, and select memtest86

Any reason to use this over the .ESD version?

Nope, ESD version is more specific to a version and compact, while the IMG version is an "all in one". That's all.

It needs to use Setup (ISO) files from x86 and first indices in install.wim/esd need to be the x86 ones afaik.

timster, why are you telling him to do clean install for, it won't work, he needs to upgrade, then get ISO off Insiders Home page on 29th Jul for clean install :eek:

Don't anyone try clean install, you must upgrade first, then clean install on 29th or later:D

yeah I upgraded to the 10240 I been running it just it was lagging so much it wasn't working correctly so I wanted to make sure I can use this iso to do clean install and still enable insider and I did its working great now all activated with not a problem
