The microsoft tool works fine with UEFI booting - thats dependant on the files in the ISO, not how they're written to the stick.
How can it work? The ms store usb/dvd tool formats the usb drive in NTFS, as far as i know UEFI can only read FAT32 formatted usb drives.
"For a successful technology, reality must take presidence over public relations. For nature can not be fooled." :MJ
Why? Near is a 'relative' term. next year is near compared to the next century. I think I will spread a rumour saying M$ will stop supporting Windows 10. In 10 years or so it will come true and I can say I told you so.
I'd ask people..."OK...so you don't really believe that planes are going to fall out of the sky, nuclear subs are going straight to the bottom, and the entire world's atomic arsenal is going to detonate the second we hit Y2K, do you?" ....I asked the question in jest, and more than once I got blank stares and worried looks in return!... Computers really are like "magic boxes" to some folks in some contexts, you know--"The Beast"-666, etc. Amazing...people think "Skynet reaching self-awareness" has an excellent chance of occurring next week, maybe, and that "robots are going to kill us all" by 2020. Oh, did I leave out the folks who think that by 2025 humans won't be driving on the nation's freeways anymore--that'll it be dimestore-level cpus driving us everywhere at 120 m.p.h. (Now, that would be an extinction-level event, for certain!) I like Sci-Fi as much as the next guy, but folks today don't seem to know when the reality ends and the make-believe begins...! It's like a return to the dark ages or something...spooky action but not at a distance, unfortunately...
Don't really need a tool, just clean, create partition, format partition ntfs for BIOS, fat32 for UEFI, make partition active, then copy files to it. Stick it in USB and boot to it!
Creating recovery drive from win10 setting takes forever like literary waited 1 hour still no progression... I might wait for msdn image tomorrow to do clean install
I was not asking but replying on a not working tool for uefi... i always format my usb fat32 when i use it for installing windows (uefi or bios), but the ms usb/dvd tool doesn't. It formats in NTFS and for that not usable for uefi installs.
