I didn't get any KB update on my Windows 10 10.0.10240 last night, I've only had windows defender updates. I'm not part of the insider program, I wonder if this is why I didn't get it?
No...as I did not log into my MSA, or set my participation and join the the insider program with this img file...and as soon I connected to the internet it pushed that KB update.
are you able to give me the exact number of the kb update, I'll try find it manually and try install it and see if it was installed during the update process, I only changed from 8.1 to 10 yesterday so perhaps it included it as part of the install.
Yes. It is but an original ISO that contains both Pro and Core (Home) images. So, if you do not use English, simply use your own ESD, no need to convert it to your language by adding a language pack. Just a waste of time. The original ISO in your language will come sooner or later.
This key no longer has a value in this Img I just installed. It is not part of the insider program by default. HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\WindowsSelfHost\Applicability registry key
The Img(ISO) was about 600 KB different, smaller. This does not mean it has been touched. that key refers to which flight branch of the insider program...the 10240 update we got had th1 as the value...this does not even have the dword. Which would be how OEMs would want it for end users. You still have the option to opt in in settings.
This is so cool, fast as you know what, everything seems to work, I upgraded over windows insider 10240, wanted to see if it would retain my activation, man was I wrong, ran winver in CMD prompt, ACTIVATED, No time bomb, I did nothing to install, downloaded from Google drive thanks to mtrai, clicked on what I downloaded, it said mount, clicked on that, then setup, theirs your road map folks. It's really neat Upgrade asked for no key but kept activation Mine installed Win 10 Pro
wimlib lzx is different than the method MS uses. Comparing size wouldn't mean much. I'm more interested in the telemetry (or lack thereof)
The only free lunch will be for you, whenever you visit me. It's how I say "thanks for all your help on MDL!".
