that's odd, nothing on that batch should cause a bsod, only drivers on there that a system critical would be the amd ones if on an amd chipset and maybe volmgrx if using dynamic volumes.

my batches are only for win 10, using them on 8 or 7 is at anyones risk.

also screw it, not letting bsods and errors defeat me...finally making progress and success in extra component removals.
i'm picking up where a guy called bold fortune (who did a xp slimming down) left off.

I applied only your Task Scheduler tweaks and Services (without drivers included) tweaks. It is almost all good with one expection - I can't type in any Windows Store apps or Windows Store itself or even Settings. I think one of the services did it because I tested the system after applying the Task Scheduler tweaks and everything worked, then I applied Services and could not type... So, I used your Default Windows 10 services, but that did not work and I think that is because I am on Creator's Edition and your tweaks do not include the new services. Any idea which service it could be? I guess it has to be Store and Input-related...

OK, I don't know whether its the services or the scheduled tasks or a combination, but Wi-Fi Hotspot is non-functional when I apply both Services AND Scheduled Tasks tweaks.

Could someone, please, provide me with a list of default Windows 10 Pro x64 Creator's Update (latest build 15063 1703-RS2):
    1. All Services in their Default States/Settings (Automatic, Manual, Disabled)
    2. All Enabled Scheduled Tasks Autoruns by Default (include Empty, Microsoft, Windows, and User entries)

It may be a bit too much to type, so I think screenshots is a better solution. The best solution would be a .reg of a .bat file of course!

That worked, but what broke it? The first command said that it was already enabled, but obviously it was not running...

testtest322, i don't remember where did i found the reg to integrate on my .wim (probably on @TairikuOkami script?) but winaerotweaker does all the job for you, titlebar, colors, menu height etc! ;)

In Windows?! Anything. It is an oversensitive ****, if you touch it, it does not like it. :31:

Removing Cortana in 1703 cripples Start, it is un-clickable. I do not use it, so I do not mind.

    Yeah,
winaerotweaker is definitely a better choice than my crazy script. I put up 3 warnings and I still get complaints. :glare:

removing cortana does not cripple start, my guess is you removed something else that broke it, as i've removed cortana from 1703 and start works.

anyway, i've called it a day on removing stuff, it causes too many problems, plus i think you could spend hours at this and breaks many things.
it just ain't worth it imo.

    best things to do is;

    disable services
    disable driver services
    disable tasks

config the windows ui to your liking.

    uninstall apps you don't need.

keep calm and carry on....with something else

i've uploaded revised batches to deal with sevices, drivers and tasks.
remember to use autoruns to disable the tasks that give access denied, after taking ownership of the tasks folder.

i've also added a permissions tweak to disable cortana but leave it installed, simple and safe.

I removed pretty much everything from Task Scheduler except for my MSI Afterburner and that text service. I don't know why you left some of those Certificate entries. I have not gotten to drivers yet but disabling all those worthless services and tasks actually made my PC noticeable snappier, even though it supposedly has specs good enough not to be slowed down at all by Windows tasks, especially in case of highly optimized Windows 10.

What sucks now is that I don't know which services prevent me from installing Windows Store Apps and updating them. I went through all the descriptions and enabled ALL Windows Store or remotely related to Windows Store services, but still could not get Apps to install... I get an error (forgot the ID number) that people say is due to Firewall not running, but mine is very much running, so its some other service. SFC ScanNow does not detect ANY integrity problems and DISM RestoreHealth stops at 80% saying it cannot find the source install.wim, even though I used a variety of ways to point it to mounted and even separately extracted wim file. I think the DISM itself got corrupt in Creator's Update. There WAS one command - Get Package X something something Disable Developer Mode something something that supposedly could restore the ability to download Store Apps.

If I can't restore Windows Store and Apps functions, then I have no need for it at all. I think what I want most is it ALL gone, including the store itself and everything related to it, even if Start stops working.

The problem is that disabling services prevents the use of Get-Package-X commands. So I re-enabled the services needed for Windows Store and Get-Package commands work, but do nothing. Nothing is removed from my Program Files\WindowsApps and Windows\SystemApps. Also Install_WIM_Tweak.exe shuts down/closes as soon as I type it any directory address and press Enter...

Do you think there is a way to get rid of all those WindowsApps at least? I want SystemApps clean of as much as possible, except for Edge or anything that is required for normal non-Store desktop functions. I have Unlocker and it does work to remove many of those packages and afterwards I can run a registry cleaner - CCleaner + CCEnhancer & jv16 PowerTools 2017 always worked for me. I'd rather remove those packages the right way though...

That ID is important, it suggests, what is broken. It it is 0x80D0000A, then it is because of Windows Firewall service not running. Then there are services required to login like CNG.

Well, I just restored to a pure untweaked image of Windows Creator's Update that I made with Acronis True Image 2017 and behold, these commands are uninstalling these programs, but not removing the actual files and folders from Program Files\WindowsApps. The big mistake I made, I think, is that I originally removed them with CCleaner because it listed them and entries vanished when they were uninstalled. Toggle Tweaker also sees ALL the Windows Apps are OFF, except for Store and yet folders and files for all those OFF Apps are still there in Program Files\WindowsApps.

However, custom Install_wim_tweak package downloaded through Toggle Tweaker did work for Cortana in Windows\SystemApps and Start still works.

I solved all the problems and now its nearly-perfect with exception that Run as Administrator is not working (at least not on .BAT files), regardless of UAC levels and regardless of UAC being enabled/disabled through registry...
