    I've copied the bat file into the winsxs folder (which I have taken ownership of the folder), but the results come back as access denied or file not found when the bat is run (as admin). I'm using enterprise LTSB 1607. Am I missing a step in the process? Also am I missing a link for the install_wim_tweak_NET4.6?

    [h=3][/h]If you think that git is just to a place to upload a file is better if you start to post on Horse & Hound rather than on MDL :D

    If git means any other person can change what i've made and i want to keep it to myself, i keep it to myself.

    I think any developer can decide for themselves what they want to do with their project.

    Exactly. Half backed apps, 95% of the cases.

    The last time I checked discussions are working this way. You share your opinion and I share mine.

    Or you want to keep it for yourself as well ? :g::D

    With you it is never discussing, it's enforcing your opinion on others and when someone dares to disagree with you he/she will get a putdown.

    When someone decides to post something he/she made/developed on MDL it's their choice.

    yes, I removed ALL the windows search packages and search still works. (but the taskbar search button doesn't which appears when you remove Cortana, but I never search from start or taskbar) you can always remove the lines that remove all the search packages, my guess shell is the one that breaks that.

    if you have no AV, you could always;

    install hostsman - keeps you hosts file updated with blocked sites
    install spyware blaster and spy bot snd

    that's all the protection I use.

    another update will be uploaded tomorrow, removed a few more packages, re-organising files into component categories and putting together a doc that describes many of the components, only run into a few which I took a guess on.

    also will make a list of all the components that shouldn't be removed because they either break windows or stop it from booting.

    here's a few;

    the packages with DS in the name (the drivers one is fine though)
    notification platform
    remoteFS
    windows firewall (mpssvc)
    IsolatedUSerMode
    winRT
    windows containers (the optional one is fine to remove)
    push notifications (to do with notifications, tiles, breaks windows if removed)
    shell experience host (breaks start menu)
    background brokers (breaks windows)

    can remove but....

    kblayout international (reverts kblayout to english us and breaks ability to add other layouts)
    restricted codes (breaks media foundation)
    cloud experience host (only remove if you don't plan or using ANY AppX apps) it breaks store signin and ms account signin to windows, any apps that require a sign in won't work (well ones that are online only) ones that don't need to be signed in should work, but your'll still have a broken store.

    k, uploaded a new zip of the hidden feature removal batches.

    still typing up a list of brief component descriptions...will take a while, got many sites bookmarked.
