i haven't removed the bluetooth stuff on my install yet, still testing the toshiba drivers, but they seem great so far as a replacement. i'll add the bluetooth removal on the next upload. i've removed all the non applicable removals from redstone 2, for anyone on insider builds will correct the hid bat tomorrow, forgot about that. will probably also revisit other driver removals sometime, once i've figured out what's really safe to remove. p.s. don't remove foundation group or visual data model, i've removed those from the upload they are meant for redstone 2, they break threshold!
naa gave up on chrome, no sidebar and the ones users had made sucked, sticking with good o'l ie with it's page not responding errors stopped using classic shell, too many options for my liking now using startisback++ plus cs sometimes doesn't load right away at login and i found that annoying. for driver removals, it usually only removes the them from winsxs, some get get left in the drivers folder, the biggest removals from the repo are the modem and printer drivers, only way to slim it down it more is to delete others manually when i get round to it i'll do a list of all the non critical drivers, atm the best thing to do is disable the unused / non critical drivers via a batch file i'll pop that in the next rls, it's actually two batches one is for your real install and the other is for use inside vmware as it uses some of of scsi miniport drivers that normal users don't need. the 3d audio package is the for hd audio settings in the sound cpl compression is for the compress folders and also for cab extract/compress etc mcupdate is microcode update for amd/intel cpu, should be left alone the MF and Media Foundation packages can be removed as well as Windows Media Format however you loose the evr renderers and some video tools will complain about missing wm dlls. you can always backup evr.dll (both of them) and then re-register them for use in mpc/be as for wm format, probably best leaving that installed, i'd keep mf installed too as it's not bad to have extra codecs at hand. i found some more drivers to remove and a few more other packages, still testing though.
thanks for the info dude! going to test more stuff them going to try to create a custom iso with the most possible packages removed. did you already tried that? edit: removed with no apparent problems: (treshold 2 10.0.14393.0) Microsoft-Windows-Printing-PremiumTools-Package Microsoft-Windows-Printing-LocalPrinting-Enterprise-Package Microsoft-OneCore-Connectivity-GamingPeripherals-Package Microsoft-Windows-TextPrediction-Dictionaries-en-Package Microsoft-Windows-TabletPC-Package Microsoft-Windows-Spelling-Dictionaries-en-us-Package Microsoft-Windows-Media-FlvPropHandler-Package Microsoft-Windows-Help-ClientUA-EnterpriseN-Package Microsoft-OneCore-Connectivity-Bluetooth-Package Microsoft-OneCore-Connectivity-Bluetooth-Full-Package Microsoft-Windows-3DAudio-HrtfData-Package trying next: Microsoft-OneCore-Connectivity-Bluetooth-WOW64-Package Microsoft-OneCore-Connectivity-Bluetooth-WOW64-onecore-Package Microsoft-OneCore-Connectivity-Bluetooth-WOW64-drivers-Package Microsoft-OneCore-SystemSettings-Bluetooth-Package Microsoft-Windows-TimeZone-Sync Microsoft-Windows-Branding-EnterpriseSN Microsoft-Windows-EnterpriseSNEdition Microsoft-Windows-DirectPlay-OC Microsoft-Windows-Killbits-Package Networking-MPSSVC-Rules-EnterpriseNEdition-Package did you already tried to remove these? whats your input. ty
which batch file do I click on to remove just the Media Foundation package? I see media player but not this...
because it's best to keep mf installed, no batches included. i'm only doing ones for safe to remove packages.
do you happen to know the name of the Media Foundation package by any chance? does it go by that name or something more cryptic? lol

creating some driver removal files that can be either used on a mounted wim image or an installed os; removes driver packages from winsxs removes inf files from inf folder removeds driver packages from the repo delete sys files from the drive folder removes the keys for individual drivers from services in registry @sobre27 about the ethernet issue, do you have a home lan using IEEE 802.1X authentication? as that's that's what's the wired auto config service is for, i disabled it on my system and rebooted and my ethernet still functions for internet access. i'm not on a lan though or require special authentication though. i'm testing service removals in vmware atm and it's going well, should be able to get near to xp amount of services. i'm not removing the files for the services, just the reg keys, i am removing the sys files from the drivers folder though, infs and packages so stuff doesn't get re-installed.
yup i'm on wired, what broked my ethernet was one of the packets of your "system or other", was unable to install the ethernet drivers, was unable to connect. when i removed the packets 1 by 1 to try to find the ofender it was ok.. no ethernet broken! btw the 3daudio if you use pci soundcard there is no problem to remove, the gaming peripherials are ok to remove to if you are no planning to use a xbox controller. yesterday i removed this packs: Microsoft-Windows-Security-SPP-Component-SKU-EnterpriseSN-Package Microsoft-Windows-Security-SPP-Component-SKU-EnterpriseSN-License-Package Microsoft-Windows-Security-SPP-Component-SKU-EnterpriseSN-GVLK-Package Microsoft-Windows-Security-SPP-Component-SKU-EnterpriseSN-Default-Package Microsoft-Windows-Security-LsaTrustlet-Package and the bluetooth drivers i can't remember da pack name forget to save it on a .txt but those are my current bluetooth installed packs: Microsoft-OneCore-Connectivity-Bluetooth-WOW64-onecore-Package~31bf3856ad364e35~amd64~en-US~10.0.14393.0 Microsoft-OneCore-Connectivity-Bluetooth-WOW64-onecore-Package~31bf3856ad364e35~amd64~~10.0.14393.0 Microsoft-OneCore-Connectivity-Bluetooth-WOW64-Package~31bf3856ad364e35~amd64~en-US~10.0.14393.0 Microsoft-OneCore-Connectivity-Bluetooth-WOW64-Package~31bf3856ad364e35~amd64~~10.0.14393.0 noticed on the packs.txt that i have a lot of "windows desktop shared drivers" packs, guess this packs are for virtual stuff am i right? tempted to remove then all
Hi, I've downloaded this script/tool and I've carefully installed packages one by one but I've encountered problems in settings app, it's missing from system but i can access it by entering personalize desktop option. Second is that whenever I open the Windows Update setting (last one) it crashes instantly and I get an error "the remote procedure call failed".
not quite sure how you ended up with broken settings / wu. @sobre27 only remove the driver packages i specified in the batches, if you remove any more that aren't listed your'll end up with non bootable windows. if you wish to remove more, just wait for the advanced driver removals. making good progress, already remove several hundred windows services (that's services and driver services combined) few bsods along the way but i narrowed down all the ones to keep.
yeah dude i was waiting for your input about the driver stuff! will wait ofc going to dig some more on the packages and see whats left to remove, going to ask your opinion in the packs later!
shouldn't be much left to remove, grab sxsv1 from the forums and export various packages to look inside.
could you gently post the thread of sxsv1? not manage to found it on the search menu, didn't do sh*t yesterday, any improvements on the drivers?
