The Daz loader does work for getting windows 10 but, But only if you have a Slic 2.1 Bios to begin with. If you try to use the Daz loader to Software Emulate a Slic 2.1 Bios which the Daz loader will do then Microsoft will be able to detect it at headquarters and you will be unable to update to windows 10. Been there and done that already. Luckfully for me that my laptops are fairly new so i already have the Slic 2.1 Bios. I have 2 older laptops that are Vista certified machines but Slic 2.1 wasn`t around until windows 7. Since the older laptops only have Slic 2.0 and were emulated 2.1 by the Daz loader so i could run Windows 7 fully activated on them, Microsoft can see this and i am unable to update those machines to Windows 10 but there are ways around that. I found a KMS activator that works great on the W10RTM so that is what i use on my older laptops.
how to i know if my computer has slic 2.1 BIOS? how do i check it? MY COMPUTER is made in 2007 and my 1st nephew computer in 2010 and my 2nd nephew laptop made in 2014
if you run the Daz loader and do a properties within Daz loader it will tell you if your bios is Slic 2.1 bud
10 chances out of 1 bud your nephew`s machines do have a Slic 2.1 Bios. i`d say for sure his laptop does.
Windows 7 went RTM in October 22, 2009 to the general population so i`d say your Nephew`s Computer has a Slic 2.1 to but only if all the hardware in it like the motherboard was manufactured in 2010.
Nah, buddy, not possible to detect, when the Emulation is running properly. Only thing would be check after the upgrade since it kills the loader install (re-writes the boot partition). Daz already stated, if they start to check for this, Loader v3.0 will emulate SLIC 2.1 on Win 10 to defeat this .
Question : When i install W7 X64 and apply Daz loader, do i need to apply all windows updates before i install Windows 10, or i can install Windows 10 from ISO directly without any updates, since it is a lot of time to waste.
happy user of daz loader thanks upgraded to windows 10 from windows 7 ultimate successfully without any hiccups. later made clean install and m activated.
Has anyone scheduled their upgrade for later via Windows Update? Windows 10 files have already been downloaded and a Windows update prompt which can't be killed in Task Manager, or seemingly from anywhere else, is giving me the option of either scheduling the upgrade for later or doing it right now. I want to schedule it for later but it only gives you one of the next 3 days to choose from. I've left it as is without confirming a date or time for the last few days and I haven't rebooted since as I'm afraid if I do it'll start the upgrade. If someone has upgraded this way, what happens if you confirm a date and time? Does it automatically start then or will it ask you to confirm the upgrade before doing so? If not, does anyone know how I can kill this Windows Update prompt all together and not have to worry about what will happen upon restart?
Microsoft does a scan of your Computer before it initiates the download for the Windows 10 update Slave77, Windows activation begins doesn`t end but begins at the boot sector of the harddrive. Microsoft can detect if there is a boot loader there and don`t try to tell me that this is not true. With a Slic 2.1 all you have to do is insert is a key and certificate in the OS portion to match the Bios and type of machine that's being activated where as with a Slic 2.0 you have to actually insert a boot loader to emulate Slic 2.1., Microsoft can see this and you will not be able to activate!! Try to upgrade on a Slic 2.0 emulated 2.1 and see what happens. I hate people that think they know everything without doing the ***** research. I`ve been there and done it as well as researched everything. DO A LITTLE RESEARCH BEFORE YOU START TELLING PEOPLE THEY DON`T KNOW WHAT THEY ARE TALKING ABOUT!!!! Remember i did not say the the daz loader didn`t work infact it works great! all i am saying is the you must have a Slic 2.1 bios to begin with and not a software emulated Slic 2.1 which is what the Daz Loader puts in at the top of the harddrive in a bootloader. When Microsoft scans your computer before the upgrade they will see this boot loader and you will not be able to upgrade. Microsoft even said that just because the you have the Windows 10 app in your task bar doesn`t necessarily mean that you Qualify for a Windows 10 Upgrade. Why did they say that Genius? because they scan your computer before the update initiates to make sure you Qualify for the update. GRRR!!
Sorry everyone i just get annoyed to crap, for the record I used the Daz loader to get Windows 10 but all the Bios in my laptops are Slic 2.1 except for 2 of them. for those laptops i used a KMS activator to activate those machines because although those machines got the Windows 10 app they would not update. Did you know that as long as you have SP1 on either windows 7 or 8.1 that anyone can get the windows 10 app with a few registry tweaks regardless as to if he or she`s machine qualifies for the update or not!, My 2 other laptops that had Slic 2.0 emulated 2.1 via Daz bootloader got killed at the update screen and i wondered why so i checked it out because i`m no novice by any means. i`ve been playing with this stuff since the BBS and Dos days. I am usually easy going LOL! I like to help people but what i do is research all my info before i go blabbering on forms about stuff i`m not exactly sure of to the point of insulting peoples intelligence. I noticed that some people are quite fond of doing that and it annoys the crap out of me.
It appears your contradicting yourself. First you state Daz Loader works great, but then its on top of boot loader and won't work. I've read , Daz Loader works regardless.
Congrats. That's the way to do it. Also know that you can now clean install that machine as many times as you'd like and you should be activated every single time.
nobody is getting what i am saying. what i am trying to say is that the daz loader works fine as long as you don`t have to use the boot loader option in the program. machines with Slic 2.1 don`t have to use the bootloader option of the daz loader as all they have to do is insert a simple key and certificate into the os using the program then everyone is smiling, you and Microsoft. if you need to use the loader option of the daz loader because your slic is 2.0 then it doesn`t work. go ahead and try it. Do people just use the Daz loader without knowing how the program work or its limits lol, Come on! think! Guys.
Well... I've installed Windows 10 and activated on many machines that use the Daz loader although they had no SLIC by default. What you're saying is those with a SLIC 2.0 do not activate? @Everybody, please report if you had SLIC 2.0, Daz loader, upgraded to Windows 10 and are activated or not.
No he's saying that older than slic 2.0 need the boot and that windows can see it and won't activate, which is wrong.
The Daz loader can also tell you just by opening the program and doing and info if your bios is slick 2.1 or not. as Slic 2.1 was initiated as part of windows 7 new activation system when windows 7 released to the general public as RTM in October 22, 2009.
You don't need a SLIC for the loader to work or for Windows 10 to activate. That's a fact as it's tested on multiple PC's and virtual machines that don't have a SLIC. If you've tried the loader yourself and found that it didn't work for you then it's because the default loader settings don't work for your system, but that's why there's an advanced tab.
