Nope, it's not performed. No code is there to do the check. It wouldn't be necessary and Microsoft gave up targeting the loader years ago. I doubt it because Microsoft know that I'd just release a workaround for Windows 10. In fact I already have the code prepared should it ever be needed, so it's a waste of their time. It's far easier for them to target stolen keys, VL and the KMS protocol.
At least there will be no Loader by Daz for Win 8, since it uses unique OEM:DM Keys which cannot be shared. This defeats the Loaders idea, that simple.
Yea, like s1ave77 said, there's no chance of that ever happening due to Windows 8 using unique keys that can easily be blocked. If something is ever needed for Windows 10 then the loader will be released for it. I'd include UEFI support for good measure too. I'm not going to release anything unless I've absolutely got to as I don't want to give anything away to the scumbags that run the fake loader websites. That plus I don't expect anything to happen to the PC's that have upgraded from Windows 7 anyway.
Upgrade from Windows 7 could pose a problem for some users, due to a lack of UEFI support in the x86 edition.
There's no possible way MS can catch it after they have authorized the upgrade. the loader is replaced. They could target the loader properly and fail to let the upgrade be reserved, but gave up since the polymorphic engine was added to it. It's possible to detect bios emulation, but they don't do it. and they are already known to not target BIOS mods, because they think it's too small a market. And the big fail with windows anytime upgrade accepting OEM SLP ultimate keys can't be undone either. Windows 10 OEM will most likely use the same key methods that 8(.1) does (unique key tattoed in BIOS). so it will probably also be nearly as difficult to pirate after the year is up. But until then, free upgrade for the win.
Daz and the rest of you guys are my heroes Microsoft should just give up and make windows free or totally screw it up so we all end up on linux( and ending up on linux/ or another open source os is my wet dream)!
Actually it's still possible. You just need to install Windows 7 in legacy mode, upgrade to Windows 10 and then format the drive and start fresh. You'll still be activated. The regular SLIC loader and a UEFI SLIC loader work just fine with both x86 and x64.
That seems to be a logical approach, but the Core Team seems to have a different experience in practice, if I am not mistaken. Sorry that I am not eligible to post a link. Please see the article "Installing Windows 7 on UEFI based computer". Quote: Note: One of the common issues we see is that users try to install X86 version with UEFI enabled in the bios. X86 does not support UEFI so you would have to configure the machine for Legacy boot to install X86 versions of Windows. If you do try to install X86 version setup will run but on the 1st reboot you will get BIOS error similar to “No bootable devices –Strike F1 to retry boot, F2 for setup utility. Press F5 to run onboard diagnostics”
I think it's a given that most people who have a motherboard supporting UEFI will install 64-bit Windows. In fact the only people I hear about installing 32-bit versions on Windows are them with older PC's that don't want to buy new hardware. I must of seen only 2 - 3 requests for the x86 version of Windows 10 when build 10240 was put online. I think it's finally starting to die off as people do eventually buy new hardware where 3 GB+ of RAM is the norm. I'm just saying that the legacy and UEFI SLIC loaders both work on both x64 and x86, but if 32-bit Windows will work on a UEFI system is a totally different story.
I do see your point that the "UEFI SLIC loaders work on both x64 and x86". Since there are no loaders for Windows 8, I wonder which Windows 7 edition you used to test the "UEFI SLIC loader on x86".
The loaders only job is to inject a SLIC. That can be done without a key or certificate, so I've actually tested the loader on a Windows 8.1 system
My system perfectly work ...i am upgrade windows 7 ultimate to windows 10 pro ...i am useing Daz loader windows 7 utimate. now my pc windows 10 pro ...my system now permenantly activate..... thanks Daz
No. I mean that I can inject a SLIC for any version of Windows. It doesn't matter if it's 32-bit or 64-bit. Activation via a loader on Windows 8.x isn't possible due to the keys being similar to retail. When it comes to Windows 10 and the loader I'm simply saying that I've already got a new version of the loader prepared, so should Windows 10 ever add in any more activation checks then I'll simply roll out a new version of the loader.
That's reassuring. Why don't you release it then? Windows Loader has helped countless people like me. They are grateful for what they've achieved with your contribution. Let's add more to that Thanks for clarifying Loader issues with W8.x. I almost jumped out of joy
There will always be people who try to steal other people's work. That doesn't make them anything but scumbags. They can't steal reputation.
russian hacker WZOR says that all windows 7 with slic 2.1 emulation updated to win 10 with KB3074686 and KB3081424 will lose activation. How MS will detect this?
