Upgraded second notebook. Did the same like before but used GenuineTicket like on desktop. Activation worked fine. I needed to use USB WLAN stick since Windows failed to use internal PCI card (ressource problem). Can´t confirm activation fails with wrong time setting. After upgrading time was 6 hours ahead. Before upgrade time was OK - synced online automatically. I used same source for all installs - official ISO release from april 2016!
Good question. Probably in order to delay the embarrassment caused in light of the watered-down group policy options, permanently-on Cortana & other possibly nasty surprises. Fearing further dilution of win 10 Pro features, some win 7/8.1 users who waited till the last minute have decided that the 'upgrade' is simply not worth the hassle after all.
Hi. I have an old Vista laptop. What's the easiest way for me to get the free windows 10 upgrade? I know I have to first upgrade it to windows 7/8 or some windows 10 preview?? I don't mind formatting the laptop. And which windows 10 should I get for it (it's an old Core2Duo T5550 @1.83Ghz, 3GB RAM & Nvidia Geforce 8400M GS GPU)? Thanks.
thanks, Daz! For the above laptop, should I try to upgrade to 64-bit Win10 or stick with 32-bit? And I assume Win10 Home will function better than Win10 Pro for low end hardware setups? RSVP, soon. Thanks.
If you've already got a 32-bit OS installed at the moment then you'll need to upgrade to the 32-bit version of Windows 10. Unfortunately you can't switch over to 64-bit without formatting. Windows 10 Pro might take up a little more disk space, but it doesn't use any more resources than Windows 10 Home.
Upgraded the other computers from Win7. Lenovo Notebook (originally came with Vista) didn´t accept upgrade from Win7 also didn´t activate with GenuineTicket... Quite old (shipped with XP) Fujitsu Notebook worked with GenuineTicket. Four HP desktop computers (originally Vista Enterprise) worked with GenuineTicket, too. Relative new computer built from parts by myself with Asus mainboard didn´t work with GenuineTicket. Both non-upgradable loader activated computers were successfully activated with original genuine Win7 Pro OEM keys. Unfortunately my most used notebook can´t be upgraded since i don´t have any spare 1,8" HDD or SSD. Stupid HP - why do they use such exotic hardware?
GenuineTicket still seems to work. Just activated my prepared WindowsToGo on the above mentioned HP notebook where i can´t change HDD at the moment since it uses 1,8" drive. It´s one and a half our after the deadline.
Thanks, Daz, for spending time in the last few hours of the free upgrade to handhold some of us. Blast it. Took many hours to finish the win7 upgrade, then the win10 one failed @32%. Now it's no longer available. Dammit. Any way I can recover the product "key" from the failed install to use? TIA.
Could anybody please confirm if the update from win7 to win 10 still works using DAZ loader?. I managed to get it done on my main computer before the expiration date last Friday, but now I would like to activate another copy of windows 10 on my virtual machine. And if it no longer works, any other working ways to activate windows 10?
after going thru the trouble of updating all the drivers that I could, I finally go the win10 upgrade to work. Thanks for the tip about the link!!
Just reporting back to say that upgrading from windows 7 ultimate with DAZ loader to windows 10 pro through assistive technologies worked like a charm for me just earlier today on my virtual machine using virtualbox.
As I known, there is three method two install Windows 10 on a computer without digital signature 1) If you have a valid Win7 or Win8 code, uses Win10 installer from ISO of Win10-1511 and install with this code. Then you can upgrade this win10 to rev 1607 (and run cleanmgr after) or do a clean install with 1607 iso 2) If you have a Win7 or Win8.1 activated (if you have not, you can install Win7SP1 then Waz loader to activate it to have one), then start upgrade from Iso of Win 10 original version (july 2015) or Win10-1511. Then you can upgrade this win10 to rev 1607 (and run cleanmgr after) or do a clean install with 1607 iso 3) If you have a Win7 or Win8.1 activated (if you have not, you can install Win7SP1 then Waz loader to activate it to have one), start upgrader from assistive page. Then you can run cleanmgr or do a clean install with 1607 iso.
As far as I Know.... The offer for free upgrade from 7/8.1 to 10 ended on July 29th 2016 If you want 10 today, you'll need to buy it or use another method. There are a couple other methods
