It was a server problem, After reinstalling the OS for 4 times it finally got activated in the first try.
The hardware Ids are that specific? And MS is going to "forevermore" maintain a database of these IDs?
Recipy for a hasslefree disaster #1. Run automatic activation script in infinite loop to assure the MS Servers get DDOSed appropriately. #2. Wonder why the Activation System is buggy at. #3. Come to MDL and complain the script doesnt work. #4. GOTO #1
I know of some devices... like the ECS Liva that does not support windows 7 and only has storage drivers for Windows 8.1. Will daz loader for 8.1 work for then upgrading to Windows 10 permanent?
Is it possible to preserve the Win 10 activtion ? Like somehow exporting some file or something? To (let's say) still use Win 7 and later decide to realy upgrade to Win 10, even after the free 1 year period? Or is it all unnecessary, because the information about the activation status is stored at the M$ mothership ?
Doing so is worthless as you must go online to activate. If the hardware is different it will lose activation
Can I just check my understanding. I have Windows 7 Ultimate with Daz Loader. Do I upgrade to Windows 10 & activate and then just download the ISO, create a DVD & clean install that & use no serial numbers. What is the benefit of a clean install? Simply space?
Yeah this is what I mean ... the Hardware stays the same. I just don't want to use Win 10 right away ... maybe in 2-3 years or something (w/o changing the HW of course). But I want to make sure I get it activated during the free 1 year period, so that when I decide to update to Win10 I'm activated.
A few posters have stated that they did a 'Reset this PC' after the Windows 10 Upgrade and it worked. Found in "Settings/Update & Security/Reset this PC"
A clean install as far I understand will require a product key. An upgrade from any validly activated Windows will give you an activated Windows 10 no matter how the original was activated (excluding modified files which hide the fact you're not activated).
Nope. You don’t need to enter a product key when begin doing a clean installation of Windows 10 build 10240 after upgrade . Durring clean install when first asked, you can leave the product key blank and click the Skip button. Later, when install finishes and you get the “It’s time to enter the product key” screen, you can click “Do this later”. Other thing you can do is to playing with EI.CFG file to skip automatically product key . . . In both cases, Windows will be permanently activated when you go online
So on a simple Levano laptop once updated is there any point doing a clean install? It's used for browsing, emails, etc. What are the benefits of a clean install over an upgrade?
1st TRY : Installed Win 7 Pro, activated with DAZ loader, went online with the Genuine Validation from MS and it showed activated product. Installed Win 10 PRO converted from the WZOR PRO ESD and after a few tries after a restart it activated. Formated the SSD try to clean install WIN 10 PRO from am USB it didnt want to activate . 2nd TRY : Done the same as in the 1st try and it worked again. I ll wait a while before trying a clean install and see if works.
