Nope. Actually ou can get rid of Edge on Pro as well without any problems. Just tested this in offline mode successfully. The resulting install is clean as babys arse. At least the same clean as LTSB what comes to crapps
i used these commands to clean my pro: Code: install_wim_tweak.exe /p D:\Win10\ISO\WORK\ /c Microsoft-Hyper-V /r install_wim_tweak.exe /p D:\Win10\ISO\WORK\ /c Microsoft-Windows-Prerelease-Client /r install_wim_tweak.exe /p D:\Win10\ISO\WORK\ /c Microsoft-OneCore-AllowTelemetry /r install_wim_tweak.exe /p D:\Win10\ISO\WORK\ /c Microsoft-OneCore-TroubleShooting-Package /r install_wim_tweak.exe /p D:\Win10\ISO\WORK\ /c Microsoft-OneCore-TroubleShooting-WOW64-Package /r install_wim_tweak.exe /p D:\Win10\ISO\WORK\ /c Microsoft-Windows-DiagTrack-Internal /r install_wim_tweak.exe /p D:\Win10\ISO\WORK\ /c Microsoft-Windows-ContactSupport /r install_wim_tweak.exe /p D:\Win10\ISO\WORK\ /c Microsoft-Windows-ContentDeliveryManager /r install_wim_tweak.exe /p D:\Win10\ISO\WORK\ /c Microsoft-WindowsFeedback-Package /r install_wim_tweak.exe /p D:\Win10\ISO\WORK\ /c Microsoft-Xbox /r install_wim_tweak.exe /p D:\Win10\ISO\WORK\ /c Microsoft-Windows-Cortana /r install_wim_tweak.exe /p D:\Win10\ISO\WORK\ /c Microsoft-Windows-OneDrive /r install_wim_tweak.exe /p D:\Win10\ISO\WORK\ /c Microsoft-Windows-ParentalControls /r install_wim_tweak.exe /p D:\Win10\ISO\WORK\ /c Microsoft-Windows-RetailDemo-OfflineContent /r install_wim_tweak.exe /p D:\Win10\ISO\WORK\ /c Microsoft-Windows-AppReadiness /r install_wim_tweak.exe /p D:\Win10\ISO\WORK\ /c Microsoft-OneCore-AppRuntime-WOW64-xbox /r install_wim_tweak.exe /p D:\Win10\ISO\WORK\ /c Microsoft-OneCore-AppRuntime-xbox /r install_wim_tweak.exe /p D:\Win10\ISO\WORK\ /c Microsoft-OneCore-Networking-XboxLive /r install_wim_tweak.exe /p D:\Win10\ISO\WORK\ /c Microsoft-Windows-Client-Drivers-xbox /r install_wim_tweak.exe /p D:\Win10\ISO\WORK\ /c Windows-Defender /r install_wim_tweak.exe /p D:\Win10\ISO\WORK\ /c Microsoft-Windows-Search2 /r install_wim_tweak.exe /p D:\Win10\ISO\WORK\ /c Microsoft-OneCore-Maps /r install_wim_tweak.exe /p D:\Win10\ISO\WORK\ /c Microsoft-Windows-Store /r install_wim_tweak.exe /p D:\Win10\ISO\WORK\ /c Microsoft-Windows-TabletPC /r install_wim_tweak.exe /p D:\Win10\ISO\WORK\ /c Microsoft-Windows-WinRT /r install_wim_tweak.exe /p D:\Win10\ISO\WORK\ /c Microsoft-Windows-Internet-Browser /r followed by these: Code: dism /image:D:\Win10\ISO\WORK /remove-provisionedappxpackage /packagename:Microsoft.3DBuilder_2015.624.2254.0_neutral_~_8wekyb3d8bbwe dism /image:D:\Win10\ISO\WORK /remove-provisionedappxpackage /packagename:Microsoft.BingFinance_10004.3.193.0_neutral_~_8wekyb3d8bbwe dism /image:D:\Win10\ISO\WORK /remove-provisionedappxpackage /packagename:Microsoft.BingNews_10004.3.193.0_neutral_~_8wekyb3d8bbwe dism /image:D:\Win10\ISO\WORK /remove-provisionedappxpackage /packagename:Microsoft.BingSports_10004.3.193.0_neutral_~_8wekyb3d8bbwe dism /image:D:\Win10\ISO\WORK /remove-provisionedappxpackage /packagename:Microsoft.BingWeather_10004.3.193.0_neutral_~_8wekyb3d8bbwe dism /image:D:\Win10\ISO\WORK /remove-provisionedappxpackage /packagename:Microsoft.Getstarted_2015.622.1108.0_neutral_~_8wekyb3d8bbwe dism /image:D:\Win10\ISO\WORK /remove-provisionedappxpackage /packagename:Microsoft.MicrosoftOfficeHub_2015.4218.23751.0_neutral_~_8wekyb3d8bbwe dism /image:D:\Win10\ISO\WORK /remove-provisionedappxpackage /packagename:Microsoft.MicrosoftSolitaireCollection_3.1.6103.0_neutral_~_8wekyb3d8bbwe dism /image:D:\Win10\ISO\WORK /remove-provisionedappxpackage /packagename:Microsoft.Office.OneNote_2015.4201.10091.0_neutral_~_8wekyb3d8bbwe dism /image:D:\Win10\ISO\WORK /remove-provisionedappxpackage /packagename:Microsoft.People_2015.627.626.0_neutral_~_8wekyb3d8bbwe dism /image:D:\Win10\ISO\WORK /remove-provisionedappxpackage /packagename:Microsoft.SkypeApp_3.2.1.0_neutral_~_kzf8qxf38zg5c dism /image:D:\Win10\ISO\WORK /remove-provisionedappxpackage /packagename:Microsoft.Windows.Photos_2015.618.1921.0_neutral_~_8wekyb3d8bbwe dism /image:D:\Win10\ISO\WORK /remove-provisionedappxpackage /packagename:Microsoft.windowscommunicationsapps_2015.6002.42251.0_neutral_~_8wekyb3d8bbwe dism /image:D:\Win10\ISO\WORK /remove-provisionedappxpackage /packagename:Microsoft.WindowsMaps_2015.619.213.0_neutral_~_8wekyb3d8bbwe dism /image:D:\Win10\ISO\WORK /remove-provisionedappxpackage /packagename:Microsoft.WindowsPhone_2015.620.10.0_neutral_~_8wekyb3d8bbwe dism /image:D:\Win10\ISO\WORK /remove-provisionedappxpackage /packagename:Microsoft.WindowsStore_2015.701.14.0_neutral_~_8wekyb3d8bbwe dism /image:D:\Win10\ISO\WORK /remove-provisionedappxpackage /packagename:Microsoft.XboxApp_2015.617.130.0_neutral_~_8wekyb3d8bbwe dism /image:D:\Win10\ISO\WORK /remove-provisionedappxpackage /packagename:Microsoft.ZuneMusic_2019.6.10841.0_neutral_~_8wekyb3d8bbwe dism /image:D:\Win10\ISO\WORK /remove-provisionedappxpackage /packagename:Microsoft.ZuneVideo_2019.6.10811.0_neutral_~_8wekyb3d8bbwe probabily this was edge part?: install_wim_tweak.exe /p D:\Win10\ISO\WORK\ /c Microsoft-Windows-Internet-Browser /r anyway, no edge any more..
Sorry, was late and I'missed to detail. I'm referring to explorer. If you remove all the packages you loose the internet cpl, so no systemwide settings for any program that relies on them. So, for example, no proxy settings on Opera, Chromium and other derivatives. Also (something I didn't test personally) in win toolkit, the parental controls package is marked red (not safe to remove) "because known side effects", I don't know if the program author is right there, but whatever...
Regarding the internet cpl there's no problems at all for me. BTW, i didn't remove old IE, just Edge. Classical internet CPL is working nicely for me, even the "modern" one. Firefox has proxy settings as usual etc. Dunno what "side effects" removing the parental controls package will cause. Haven't noticed any.. This was always removed without any side-effects from win7, win8, win8.1 as well.
Ah OK. I read too quickly and given that package was missing on LTSB I thought you removed all the explorer packages (those marked as optional can be safely removed) I wrote Chromium for a reason. The good old Opera and Firefox aren't relying on explorer settings.
That was what I was missing, thank you If you want to ditch the crappy Metro calculator, there are links to the cab files needed to inject the win32 calculator from LTSB on this forum.
Exactly. My actual goal was to make my Pro LTSB-like, so i can use my official Pro licencing and have the same LTSB (well, almost) user experience. @ lordashram Your welcome! Yes, i know about that classical Calc stuff. Just wanted to give a "modern" one some try a little bit.. Will remove these later..
Yes, I did the (more or less) same on a secondary machine to understand pros and cons of both solutions.
Microsoft will not begin using Windows 10's multiple update tracks, called "branches" by the Redmond, Wash. firm, until later this year, analysts said, and in the interim will continue to push all updates to everyone at the same time. Miller's bet is that Microsoft will wait until Windows 10 Mobile officially reaches production quality -- a milestone expected this fall -- before priming the branch pump. With Windows 10 Mobile out, the clan of operating systems will be in place. Those branches will separate Windows 10's users into different update tracks, getting fixes as well as new features and functionality to customers on different schedules. Branches are a radical departure from Windows' historic servicing and maintenance model, which offered updates and upgrades to everyone simultaneously, then let customers decide whether they moved forward or stayed in place. As a crucial component of the "Windows as a service" theme Microsoft has promoted, branches will deliver the constant cadence of changes that will let the company evolve the OS over time rather than simply replace it with the next in line. In most cases, users will be required to accept the updates on their given branch; not doing so will mean a stoppage of security patches. For example, the Current Branch (CB) -- the only available to consumers running Windows 10 Home -- will deliver updates before the Current Branch for Business (CBB), the track accessible from Windows 10 Pro and Windows 10 Enterprise. The third mainstream branch, dubbed Long-term Servicing Branch (LTSB), can be adopted only by devices running Windows 10 Enterprise that are also covered by Software Assurance plans. In Microsoft's scheme, updates distributed to the CB reach systems first, with the same updates delivered to CBB devices at least a month later (in some cases as much as a year later). LTSB machines can forego all but security updates indefinitely. Meanwhile, within each branch there will exist at least two "rings," or sub-divisions, that allow users to jump to the front of the queue, or delay deliveries for days or even weeks.
Can someone tell me if a friend of mine should use MTK or KMSPico to activate this build? It's better to install online or offline? Thanks for your replies
kmspico worked here, use gpedit.msc to disable sending kms info to MS, the option is "turn off KMS client online AVS validation" in administrative templates under computer configuration
Computer Configuration -> Administrative Templates -> Windows Components -> Software Protection Platform -> Turn off KMS Client Online AVS Validation
