Thanks to everyone who replied in this thread and special thanks to OP. Worked this time and I got the "Download" button in windows update section. This was for windows automatic scan for updates and I just got a notification that updates are available. My favorite version without all the extra stuff that I don't usually use.
From wikipedia: N Editions Spoiler Additional Windows 10 editions specially destined for the EU, Switzerland, and Korea have the letter "N" (for Not with Media Player) suffixed to their names (e.g. Windows 10 Enterprise N) and do not have media-related technologies like Windows Media Player or Camera. There are N editions for all Windows 10 versions except Mobile, Mobile Enterprise and IoT Core. Microsoft was required to create the "N" editions of Windows after the European Commission ruled in 2004 that it needed to provide a copy of Windows without Windows Media Player tied in. The cost of the N Editions are the same as the full versions, as the "Media Feature Pack" can be downloaded without charge from Microsoft. Those editions lack at least the following functionality: Play or create: Audio CDs Digital media files Video DVDs Organize content in a media library Create playlists Convert audio CDs to digital media files View artist and title information of digital media files View album art of music files Transfer music to personal music players Record and play back TV broadcasts after Internet Explorer does not include playback for: Adaptive streaming Digital Rights Management (DRM)
I'm testing this in a VM and I gotta say: I LOVE IT. No offense to MS, but the store isn't very good still. The apps are made for the lowest common denominator: in this case, phones. They need to make different versions of the apps, IMO: one for desktops and one for phones/tablets. Desktops have better graphics, ram, and processing and we don't use touch screen. The only things that these apps have going for them: Scaling graphics That's it. If you program your stuff to scale properly for normal desktop applications, there's no benefit to using store app version. /rant
Do the more knowledgeable of you know if the Windows 10 Enterprise LTSB 90 day eval .iso from Microsoft is gimped in anyway other than time-bombed?
CommanderHK47 quoted wikipedia where it sais: ^ so I guess, you can download and install 'Media Feature Pack' into Win 10 LTSB N and make the games that require some codecs work, right?
I'm curious about the feature updates which the other editions will receive later this year, from wikipedia, LTSB won't receive them, I guess MS will provide another ISO for 2015 LTSB? Maybe 2016 LTSB?
There is also Enterprise LTSB N version. You can see them on the MSDN download list if you look in the LTSB section.
Went through the whole thread. I'm very intrigued. However, as some other users I have my concerns regarding activation. What will happen to activation after evaluation period is over? Maybe Pro N could serve as alternative. It should come without Windows Store and its Apps (?). Control over Windows Updates would be lost, but Pro N should be easier to activate. What your thoughts, everyone?
