100% Sure. It installed some core media features, and Windows Media Player. You can then uninstall Windows Media Player from Programs and Features, but the core remains. I have it installed, and no Apps at all came back. The package is just 100MB, and I assume most of it is Windows Media Player while the rest are some files that might be needed.
Run as admin, but the easiest solution is saving the registry fix shown in the original message as a text, but naming it .reg, then double click it and it will apply the fix
Yeah the folders are there. I don't think any of it is ever used though. There is no shortcut anywhere to an Xbox app and it doesn't auto launch during games like in other Windows versions, Cortana isn't available in Search, and so on. It might be there for some compatibility issues.
Enjoy the cleanness... and the silence... I would suggest the version "without N" for seemless media support. I noticed that x64 Enterprise LTSB uses +-400mb less ram and 4-5% less processor power than x64 Enterprise after clean install. Definately interesting, for sure by older pc's with less resources. A version to stick around after windows 7... BTW, people, let now windows update to do his job... M$ has an army of developers doing their best to solve the possible problems, i would say...
pawX, could you please confirm this? It seems that the difference between N & non-N is only win media player?
LTSB include "basic" Cortana search ... so if someone wants free more memory, then kill Cortana completely by renaming "Microsoft.Windows.Cortana_cw5n1h2txyewy\SearchUI.exe" free cca 25-40MB RAM
Yes I agree LTSB edition is the best to stay after win 7, but the only worries is the feature update, LTSB don't receive them according to initial plan. IMO the current Windows 10 is not feature complete, even the basic one don't, if LTSB can't get Threshold wave 2 in this fall then I prefer stay at Win 7 or upgrade to Win 10 Pro after Threshold wave 2.
Maybe MS just want to say that Windows LTSB won't update removed features. Maybe by "new features", they mean unecessary things like Cortana, Edge, Modern Apps and all things removed from LTSB. But I can't say if this edition will be able to be updated with all general updates. The GA update applies successfully on LTSB, so it's good to know and I hope that all future Windows/security updates will be able to be applied to LTSB. The Wave 2 is just Windows 10 improvements, so I think that this update will be applied to LTSB without any problem. For Redstone, I think that an upgrade will be necessary (like build upgrade for Insiders) but it could be the case of all editions of Windows 10.
That's correct anything that has the Win10 brand, each machine will be checked with a microscope with Wave #2 there is a lot more give for Home and Pro, Windows 10 Enterprise users with cracks and kms activations (will get the, wow my computer is acting real weird today and I didn't do one thing) lol
As far as i understood, when they say about LTSB that will not receive feature updates, they mean the metro UI related things, cortana, edge, skype etc. simpleway because it has them not! All security, optimisation, stability, core related etc. updates will be available for all editions. Further than that, LTSB is meant to give companies more control over the update process, for more stability, and that's all... Time has come to forget past (winXp, win7 etc), even Linux spammers can not spoil this nice release....
LTSB should receive all important updates. It will most likely not get Metro/Modernapps-related-updates (many of those actually get updated through the store itself, which doesn't exist in this version). From what I read, LTSB version can somehow change between 3 update branches - Current/Current for Business/LTSB. Despite it being called LTSB, it is my understanding that by default, those who use Windows Update with this version will get the Current branch by default, just like Pro and normal Enterprise, which basically means we should get identical updates to Pro/Enterprise users. It's possible that something different will happen with the next 'big' release like 10.1/Redstone/whatever, maybe LTSB will require a separate ISO instead of being updated if it's a full-on ESD upgrade, but it's not clear yet for sure.
Eh, I doubt MS care about average joes KMSing Enterprise, I mean cmon lol, we don't use Enterprise features. Besides, Enterprise still has the 90 day trial that can be rearmed once for those desperate for dat Applocker.
