uup-converter-wimlib v23 - New way of handling configuration options (previously called manual options) ConvertConfig.ini file now will have the options, they will take precedence over the values inside the script you need to edit it to change the default value for each option the file cover options for both scripts convert-UUP.cmd/create_virtual_editions.cmd, each with its section (virtual options are preceeded with v for differentiation) options themselves are not changed - If convert-UUP options AutoStart & StartVirtual are ON, create_virtual_editions.cmd will be called in the same CMD instance, and return to convert-UUP.cmd afterwards this allow the process to be seamlessly continuous thanks to @mkuba50 for the suggestions
is there a way / tool to decrypt ESD files (converting to iso) using Linux or is it a Windows exclusive?
There is no ESD to ISO converter for Linux as far as I know. UUP to ISO converter exists, but it is limited (no updates integration etc, creates only editions available directly via UUP).
thanks mkuba50, i just need a conversion, no integrate/modifies, but that's ok, I suppose there is NO linux version for that tool.
What do versions with "svc_refresh" mean? Is it a later, more upgraded version of the same OS version?
is it normal, i downloaded CU 17763.316 UUP. and while running convert_uup updates are integrated only when i select install.wim option. If i select create ISO or install.esd it simply compiles iso without the updates integration. I tried like 3 times same result. In short integrate updates only works with install.wim. if you select install.esd it ignores the updates integration.
That probably is because the ESD/UUP>ISO (with install.esd) conversion is directly from UUP to install.esd and install.esd is not serviceable.
I exactly thought this and i had another theory in mind that it makes a temp folder with install.wim integrates the updates and than converts it to ESD. but i guess it goes straight from ESD to ESD. Which is also fine.
Yes, the script could also do the install.esd conversion at the end, so people can select to integrate updates, resetbase and create virtual editions, and at the end ask for iso with esd or wim, but that would take ages to finish. IMHO, that would overcomplicate the script, those who know what to do will manage to do it their own way.
Well i did all of the work using the script, except the part where it converts it to ESD at the end. It literally took 35 to 40 minutes hardly to, 1) integrate updates to Install.wim 2) Create all the Virtual Editions P.s although the size of ISO with install.wim is still surprisingly controlled. but i guess i am gonna have make custom script to convert it to Install.esd and thando the same to X64 and create X86_X64 MCT ESD. type edition.
Just drag and drop the install.wim on @abbodi1406 his WIM<>ESD conversion script, it will offer you all the options to create an install.esd Or try this, using the created iso with install.wim: https://forums.mydigitallife.net/th...-install-esd-install-swm-creation-tool.78925/
What an effort every time . I completely switched to WinPESE live builds for all that stuff. WinNTSetup is an amazing tool that offers far more controll than default Windows Setup as it allows a choice whether a boot partition is used and in that case which one. It can handle WIMs, ESDs and UUPs stored on any connected drive. Lately did it for a friend, backed up the old system with Acronis (PE has the good ol' interface), prepared the partitions with Disk Mannagement and installed fresh LTSC 2019 from mounted ISO (residing on an USB HDD). Runs nice on the Ryzen 5 2600X, 16 GB RAM and GTX 780.
I personally use WinNTSetup, it is one hell of amazing software packed with 1000s of optios. Back in time when i saw Murphy78 Custom ISO, i kinda started learning and building iso for family and friends. Its kinda hard for them to teach how to use WinNTSetup. Recently i gave windows setup in my University Computer Lab for PC up gradation. And believe me although they had Masters in computer sciences but they were still using 14393 build and than updating the LAB PCs via windows update. So mainly its Noob friendly windows Setup. so i keep both of them packed with me everytime.
@s1ave77, I want to give the winNTsetup a try. Just wondering what is the best level of the decompression to use since it is an ESD and not WIM source.
Not sure what you mean . Shouldn't make much difference when using ESD, WIM or even UUPs. It's actually an apply like the one that can be done with Dism or imagex.
Where can I find the latest Windows 10 IOT for 32 bit and 64 bit devices.? Couldn't find it in the search. Also, is there a slimmed down version of Windows 10 that can run on Bay trail devices?
