Hey, where can I find "10510.0.150729-1935.th2_CLIENTENTERPRISE_VOL_x64fre_it-it.esd" and "10510.0.150729-1935.th2_CLIENTPRO_RET_x64fre_it-it.esd" ? I tried to use a software for downloading files, but it does not seem to work, the two images are not present in ms-vnext.net/Win10esds/urls/
after checking out list of downloadable ESD. I want to ask, is Microsoft this stupid for releasing different ESD for every language?
Script debugging Sorry to hijack the thread, I do not know which the proper forum to debug that script. Mods are welcome to move this to correct place. I found the hard way a problem with a Win10 ISO built this way, using the WIM layout (having install.WIM not .ESD on the DVD): the data.dat file added to spp/store/2.0 ("WMC" keys) has seemlingly a permission problem, after the installation of Win10 it stands on disk with SYSTEM:F Admins:F Users:R and owner SYSTEM, and since the sppsvc services runs as NetworkService it cannot recreate the file on startup, so fails to start (access denied, 0x80070005); bottom-line result is failure to activate code 0x80070426. After quite a bit of tries-and-errors, I determined that just removing that file (once Win10 is fully installed) allows sppsvc to start flawlessly and Windows then activates immediately For the record, my starting point was Win8.1 Core without any Media Center in sight. I am a bit puzzled why this is only a problem for this file (not the other two), why it is only a problem for me (I should not be the only one which is trying the .WIM format) or even what is the fuss with those WMC keys (any link with Media Center? does it have any effect on Windows 10, where AFAIK Media Center is not an option any more?)
Am I missing something? I see download links for *.esd files, and people asking what to do with them and how to convert to them to .iso files. Why not just use Microsoft's own Media Creation Tool [ http ://v.gd/stokSt ] to download a bootable .iso that can be used to upgrade or do a fresh install? Edit: As of Aug 9, 2015 the Tool has: 37 languages listed Different Editions listed for different languages: English (United States) shows: Windows 10 {Home, Home N, Home Single Language, Pro, or Pro N} Architecture {32, 64, or Both}
There's not really a reason not to. The only thing I didn't see on the media creation tool is the education versions, which they made esd links for. There's probably some education download thing somewhere, but I have no idea where. Maybe upgrade for 8 pro student? *shrug*
Because the script was found before MCT exist and it will support future preview builds (which MCT won't offer) btw, does Win10 MCT resume download if disconnected? or start over like Win8.1 one?
This only affects Win8.1 WMC editions, and i never saw users report activation error before Win10 has nothing to do with it
Because sometimes you want to do operations beyond what is bundled into a closed executable (my personal case is a 2-language media), and if you start with an equivalent script (or anything which source is open), you can easily custom it to your needs without reinventing the wheel. Also the fact the script could spit an .ISO which embeds install.WIM (instead of .ESD) can be useful to some power users.
Good question. I don't know. The page doesn't say and my 5.8GB download (both x32/x64) finished without any issues. UPDATE: I just had a situation where my internet went down, and I was in the middle of downloading a different .ISO file. The downloader timed out, and when I resumed the download it started back from 0%. Quite annoying.
Sounds like more of a specialized case, but when needed would certainly be a whole lot more efficient. Script is already there. Add your files and adjustments, and viola! custom install.
Does any one know where to get Windows 10 Enterprise ESD? Yes, I know ... Ignore this post Gosh.. I don't know what have I taken for breakfast...
How do I change the BCD of the installation DVD of Windows 8.x/10 to ensure that it identifies the boot.esd and install.esd files? Thanks Bye
