You're using the wrong tool for converting install.esd > wim (that's what i think you wanted to accomplish?) The tool you used is for ESD files downloaded by windows update. Check abbodi's sig for the "esd <> wim" tool. ps i'm only a compulsive tester
idk what happen...I try esd decrypt v10 and v12 then 13..it say windows 10 pro but if try with intel Hd properties is said my windows is windows 10 pro Insider preview 10568..anyone know? before this just windows 10 pro..no sign "Insider preview".. I dont do nothing with setting..I do with cleans install...I try 3 times but result is same
You know what Einstein said about doing the same thing over and over again this is by design, there is nothing wrong or any problem, official microsoft ISOs have the same it's just a name for wim image, the OS is completely final/official and not preview
yep..idk this annoying for me..but anyway thank abbodi14066 for explanation.. I just worried/do something wrongbthat will effect my windows just a little thing can make me frustate..
On the other hand: MS promised that Win10 will be under construction for ever, didn't they? The fact is, that Win10 1511 (TH2) comes as build 10586.0 and is updated by the last cumulating patch (KB3124200) to build 10586.36. Hope you are no longer frustrated. Regards, Nemo_G
BTW, wsus.ds. header can be discarded from link i guess the script would now need an update to differentiate pro/edu retail from volume how can the licensing be detected of ESD? i know that education can be based on edition flag (Education_VL / Education_Retail), but what about pro?
The flags of Education VL is either Education_VL or Education. And that of both Professional editions is Professional. So, one reliable way of determining whether Volume or Retail: Only Volume editions have the package of Microsoft-Windows-Security-SPP-Component-SKU-EnterpriseS-GVLK-Package
wimlib (and new 7-zip) can extract files of esd but, i think checking EI.CFG would be enough to determine volume
