I ran it and got a boot.wim error. I then created an ISO, mounted and ran it and the install completed.
Hi, So will everyone who`s on windows 7 sp1 & windows 8 & 8.1 receive this $windows.~BT folder even if that have not reserved their free windows 10 upgrade Just wonder that say people with the GWX icon on the taskbar received the files & M$ knows its the system information Ps where do we check see if we have the files Thanks
So how does it work? for now mine is downloading in C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution\Download\8f36b36c5f97d84a69eedf4ec27435ec, US English Windows 8.1 Pro with reservation. once it finishes, it will not auto install? If I open ESD and create ISO, what serial do I need to use, the one I have for my Windows 8.1?
Noo, is not possible, another question regarding "what serial do I need to use"???? Please search on the forum, the answer is writing dozens of times.
ONLY if you have a copy reserved, you would see the GWX app icon in the taskbar. To check the files, enable viewing of Hidden and Protect OS System files from the folder options.
You need not enter ANY serial key. The fact that you did get the update is because M$ tagged your device as Genuine. Just keep skipping the Serial Key entry screens and you will be automatically activated once the installation is complete.
i had that folder now is gone but i have created iso and installed on vm and it works (but i have to go to woark so no time to do install for real) but tonight when i come home
I've checked my update history and found "Upgrade to Windows 10 Pro, Failed to install on 7/28/2015". Is this only on my PC?
C:\$Windows.~BT\Sources\Panther here is some file where you get license key GenuineTicket.xml some if decode this parameters then get keys.
My wife as that GWX icon on her taskbar but she has not reserve it yet as she will wait & see I have it also on one of my windows 8.1 laptop & haven't reserved it on that system also she was worry that she may get the files without reserving them I will upgrade some of my devices & then I think she will upgrade later
It's not a normal key - it's an RSA encrypted store licence - it changes often ( eg. after Device ID changes with drivers etc..)
This is why " notify but do not download " is such an important feature. You do not have this choice with Win10 Pro maybe we'll have it with enterprise when it comes. I've taken my Win 10 Pro loaded hard drive off line it's trying to download another 2gb of stuff not thru my little expensive isp portal ...T
It's 5:30 pm on 28/7 in my country. One of my home PCs, a Win 8.1 Pro x64 machine has begun downloading the upgrade. Just received 140 MB so far, but the upgrade is on it's way. I'll use this RTM ESD to upgrade my 2nd PC and a laptop, both of which already have build 10240. Have issues with this build which have been reported to MS. Hopefully this new build and the resultant updates will be bug free.
US Eastern Time Here. I have the folder, its 140MB. EDIT: And now it's downloading the ESD. 10240.16384.150709-1700.th1_clientpro_ret_x64fre_en-us_9d40e15f430ab89a1eabb165acbf40c9f07d18bb.esd After it created the 140MB folder, I checked for updates using the CPL based WU client. It then began to download the ESD using the Background Intelligent Transfer Service.
thanks for the time check after it downloads into BT folder does it sit there until after midnight tonite before install starts?
