I think mine started after I ran "wuauclt /detectnow" (actually it definitely started then, I just cant be sure that's what triggered it). I currently have 140MB in $windows.~BT and 2.6GB downloading in SoftwareDistribution.
Do we have to wait till the 29th to see the upgrade app? I do have the xxxBT folder (16,965 files) 6.12GB but still the Upgrade to windows 10 Pro displays a 'Failed' status (3 attempts so far...)
Just did this myself, reboot one of my Dell desktop running W7P while I'm catching up on the laptop, and almost right after the system rebooting, the .~BT folder was created/showed up (it's a hidden folder) and files began downloading - server only pushed out about 128 MB or 2 sub-folders thus far, so patience is key - have a reasonably fast Fios connection, so it shouldn't take too long.
Same here. Got the files, got the esd. How to trigger installation? Aaah sorry, first post here - so, hello people ;-)
so i am guessing the esd downloads to \software distribution and then gets extracted to $windows~BT and then deleted...I believe that is what happened with the last upgrade (162) and I believe that is why I do not have an esd anywhere right now..i wasn't looking for it so I didn't capture it.
I just looked at my Windows update history & it looks like there's two failed instances of "Upgrade to Windows 10 Pro". The error code I got was 80240020. Anyone else get a similar error? Any ideas on how to fix it?
It could really be a lot of things. Have you tried downloading esd and making an iso to upgrade? We know that works.
