Hey guys! just brought my Windows 8.1 Pro Key for 30 bucks, and installed it on my Win 7 installation. After i installed 8.1 i did all the updates from windows update. The one related to Win 10 upgrade wasnt there and even if i tried a lot of things it hasnt appeared. I used the iso converted from the Win 10 Pro Esd and installed on the Win 8.1 partition as upgrade. After installation and connecting to the internet Win 10 Pro was activated. Now my question is , can i use my current Win 10 PRO KEY (i viewed the key with windows expert tool and its different from the 8.1 pro key) to reinstall windows 10 at a future date , or do i have to do the upgrade procedure again ? I mean , is my Win 10 PRO key a key that i could use as a normal key for reinstalling in the future from format?
homebrew iso = ESD file that converted to iso. The generated ISO could have timestamp in files, might include fragmented data, metadata (permissions, attributes, etc.), encoder information etc. So the hash of the iso file generated through X computer at Y time, may differ from Z computer at T time. I don't really have any ESD to compare with. It is also hard to figure out which Install.esd you have, i mean the WU distrubes.
What I mean is, mine did the same, and after a few reboots it downloaded the files successfully, I have not installed it yet on this machine since I'm drinking beers and enjoying MDL at the moment. Ohh, and just for the fun of it, I made an .iso da_windows_10_pro_10240_x64_dvd.iso
Upgrade 8.1 Pro to 10, 10 will activate once online, do a Clean install, 10 will auto activate once online. In short, no key needed for 10, unless I'm getting drunk and starting to forget things.
mine started downloading windows 8.1 vl pro to windows 10 upgrades now by windows updates when i run following command (cmd as admin) wuauclt.exe /updatenow
Follow this link and you see when windows 10 start: microsoft.com/en-us/windowsforbusiness/default.aspx
No, 0500 hours Pacific. Pacific Daylight Time (often called 'Summer Time' in Europe) is UTC-0700. 0800 hours Eastern Daylight Time: UTC-0400.
I upgraded first creating an iso from Install.esd that windows downloaded. After that I made a clean install booting from the iso and Windows 10 is activated. *Sorry for my bad english*
From Pacific Time zone where I am it says 15 Plus hours it 4:17 PM now which would make it 8 AM here. Might depend on where you are located.
Is this a one way trip? I have a Surface Pro 2 and there had been issues with running 10 on it. They did update the firmware and drivers this weekend but I'd hate to get stuck with no way of returning if they still are having issues with it.
Your computer will keep a backup of the old OS for 30 days. After 30 days you will no longer be able to go back.
omg i recieve windows update 8.1 pro to windows 10 now when i run following command as admin but as microsft link for my country india said 3 hours 10 minutes i have to wait..
