no its the media creation tool goes to upgrade and downloads all files, then running the media creation tool x64 to upgrade gives this error everytime
Win10Pro downloaded early yesterday onto Dell Optiplex 380 & ready, had one WU file to install (Win7 compatability for W10) and 20 minutes after midnight EDT here, click on the install button - quickly downloaded some more files and then rebooted ... 30 minutes later, installation was done, opted to customize my own settings instead of Express Settings, then it finished up & viola, Win10 Pro is up & running, activated and all the device drivers set. Pretty cool & far nicer than W8.1 - almost as if I'm back on Win7Pro. $Windows.~BT folder was 4.2 GB sized (this is a hidden folder on C:\) and now less than 3 GB, and old OS now in the Windows.Old folder (about 13.1 GB) Launch Chromecast on Firefox, playing my Youtube nicely, users will be comfortable with this new OS.
I am not able to see $Windows.~BT folder yet. I reserved my copy many weeks ago. My timezone is +5.30 GMT. Can anybody tell where this folder can be located ?
Now GWX give me the option to view the download progress and it's downloading Windows. It was pushed yesterday on Windows.~BT but I see the d/l progress. What was strange, I had in Windows.~BT about 4.6GB and in softwaredistribution folder about 900 MB. Now I see it's already 2.6 GB.
I was having problems as well but did this : Go to "C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution\Download" and delete everything in the folder. Run cmd as admin and type : wuauclt.exe /updatenow . Hit enter. Run windows update and download it again. Instal when asked. Reboot. Job done.
I think M$ upgraded plan changed in the last minutes. Now I have to redownload everything. the difference is I can see the progress and have new folder $Windows~WS.
Very Important Do not run media creation tool to download iso image while you have a $Windows.~BT folder on your system. it empties this folder.
It did, but I had backed up the Windows BT folder, Just restored it. Anyone with timezome +5:30 GMT able to upgrade via windows update??
