So my download just stopped working, and $Windows.~BT size remains 140 MB, while the Download folder in SoftwareDistribution is 2.65 GB. What to do?
Windows 10 X86 (includes both Home and Pro) you will get Windows 10 Pro as you're coming from W7 Ultimate.

Here I got the same problem. 9 times failed to install upgrade since yesterday. Copied the "install.esd" and created the ISO and at this moment I´m upgrading my legit Windows 8.1. I cleaned puthe download folder rthis morning, but until now, nothing happened. I need to upgrade 3 other machines, and I don´t wait to download and upgrade anymore. If this upgrade works, I will check later.
Sorry for the delay... Sort of did things oddly. I had very LOW expectations: -Target system Windows 7 OEM SLICed. -Did a clean install, booted off USB flash drive, from Windows 10 x64 Pro ISO source. -Activated first via KMS with -T83GX then switched to RETAIL key: -TXYCV and activated as PERMANENT! -Token file did not change--very surprising.
I don't know what's going on but the Windows BT folder gets redownloaded every 3-4 hours and I have good internet connection (1 Gb\s).
Upgrade to Windows 10 Pro Status Failed: 80240020, I downloaded the updates twice, and both times I ended up with a failure. What to do now?
if you haven't yet worked it out, Windows 10 is currently free for everyone, no matter what pirate method you used, it activates fine, if it comes up saying you're using a volume-mak install, all you need to do is a clean reinstall and you get the retail copy. It's MS's method for survival and keeping market dominance. They don't want to say its a free for all OS as they would like to act as if it was a huge success for how good it is, not that it was free for everybody, including pirates. They desperately need it to be a success, if it was another Vista, it would completely end their market dominance
Same problem here. Tray icon is gone, hidden folders are enabled but I see no download folder or $WINDOWS.~BT in the root of the drive.

Yes, several times. I've tried the other suggestions in other threads to force the update but nothing happens. This is only happening on 1 o my PCs. I've had the update come through fine on about 3 desktops and 2 laptops.

Windows 7 Public Serial Number SLIC users - please let us know if you receive the free upgrade and everything installs well.
I use English Windows 8.1 and only use Polish locale and keyboard settings. Media Creation Tool insists on downloading Polish setup files and refuses to perform a full upgrade due to language differences. Any suggestions? Will using the English ISO also let me do the full upgrade?
