I did what you suggested: Extracted "hwcompat.txt" and "hwexclude.txt" from the original x64 15063.0 boot.wim index 2 and after integrating the CU (15063.296), i replaced the updated files with the original files and the uptodate x64 boot.wim worked and i did not get the "cannot find the ...list" error i posted when i encountered it the first time.
Oh... You coulda just used iso\sources versions and put them in the boot.wim. They're the same files before updates are added.
Didn't have any problems with the swapped hwcompat.txt and hwexclude.txt files. I did learn something, tho. Apparently Windows Upgrade uses winre.wim Found this out b/c I added a -prompt to my netstart command in winpeshl.ini Sure enough it gave the prompt before doing the upgrade percentage portion
I formatted my computer and performed clean install of Windows 10 Creators Update on my computer a day ago. But, I could not install KB4016871 (May 9, 2017—KB4016871 (OS Build 15063.296)) on my computer. I installed KB4016871 via DISM and it went fine. I was then prompted to restart my computer. As the installation of the update during booting moved close to 98%, it was shown that "We could not complete the updates. Now undoing the updates". The thing is that the Windows is still clean. I did not use any software (NTLite or WinReducer) to remove the compoenent of Windows. Then, why can't I install the update? How can I solve the problem? Package Identity : Package_for_RollupFix~31bf3856ad364e35~amd64~~15063.296.1.5 State : Staged Release Type : Security Update I also attach the DISM log. Thank you for your advice.
