Windows 10 Hotfix Repository

I can confirm now that there is a setting that allows for a full ResetBase, which rebases the OS without packaging any old data. If you apply a full rebase you no longer get any WinSxS Temp file build ups, no pending operations, no matter how many times you rebase or use DISM ScanHealth or SFC ScanNow - it stays empty and it also saved me a bunch of space on my wim - about 200MB.

I think this was discussed in MSMG Toolkit thread, but I am not sure as that discussion involved NetFX 3.5 pending flag. I hope Aboddi introduces enabling of full ResetBase into his next W10UI release. I think its an old setting that not many people knew about... Or maybe its new? I definitely like it and approve its use .

I wonder why MS keeps full ResetBase disabled. Partial rebase is still permanent AFAIK and unless you can get your pre-CU component store data from those compressed delta packages, there is no point in keeping full ResetBase disabled. Incomplete rebasing forces OS to do some constant cleaning too, wasting good CPU cycles!

 

yep I agree 100% w10 is very good O.S.(always beta) so I'm tired of it then I prefer Windows 8.1 that have definitive Build then for me is better than Windows 10

The issue is that "Reset this PC" doesn't work.

Would it not just reset it to the updated version? What if you also update and rebase WinRE.wim? Wouldn't incomplete rebase have the same exact consequences?

One way or another - could care less about that. If I want my PC reset - I will just re-install the updated image.

 

OK.., although our discussion is very much ON TOPIC. I do not want to argue, but I guess we need to make many more "Windows 10 Hotfix" threads, each one unique, like "Windows 10 Hotfix Rebasing" and then another one "Windows 10 Hotfix Discussion" and I can think of several more. Oh wait... that actually makes LESS sense than discussing the same SUB-topics here, but I know that arguing with any moderator/staff is pointless, so I off I go making more threads per-your-implied/suggested-advice.

i have too issues with the download ...the speed is terrible probably msft issues..:/

 

I don't know why someone posts the exact same updates as in the post above, that aside, the downloads are very slow atm.
