Hi, suppose I have laptop running Nov 2015 update, I want to upgrade it to latest FCU build(January, February when it gets released), would I get FCU upgrade in Windows Update? Or do I have to download, install using MCT? Also don't have broadband, using mobile Wi-Fi with daily 1GB FUP, it'd take 4 days to download. would windows update automatically pause when there is no Internet & resume when connected or does the download gets reset?

 

With the latest update (SS and CU), the loading of Windows 10 (boot) is much longer.
Someone else noticed it too ?

 

I have everything still.
But noticed that the Wi-Fi icon in the tray shows the correct signal level.

 

I haven't noticed an increase in boot time.

With Restart Time
New CU : 37 sec
Old CU : 27 sec

For the boot time with the new CU, I wonder if it is not related to the dll patch for themes
With this new CU, the file themeui.dll is updated, and the program I use to patch, does not pacth this new version
And the boot is longer because the dll is not patched or it's something else

for me, when the Windows loading icon starts spinning, it hangs for about 5 seconds, then continues to spin so yes it is way slower than a Vanilla FCU installed or previous Windows builds.

 

kb4058258 was not offered on wu so installed manually. After install, it broke remote desktop. Couldn't log in to either my camera's computer nor media server. received authentication failure. Had to system restore back to .194. Anyone else having troubles with the .214 update and remote desktop?

I have tried to install kb4058258 x64 for several times (say, 10-12 times), both online & offline.

But no luck!

I installed the SSU, and cannot install the kb4058258, the error specified using w10ui is along the lines of
same manifest exists but data is different
done the disk cleaner windows update cleanup
Also, no cumulative updates appear available at all, and i have no group policies regarding deferral of quality or feature updates. It seems a bug in 1709, so far have installed updates manually.

No, that ship has sailed when I did startcomponentcleanup /resetbase... will wait till next cumulative or till rs4 iso if need be...
