Did you upgrade your gpu drivers accordingly? nv just came out and maybe amd, It should support wddm 2.4. don't forget about proper chipset setup driver
there is no point on blindly updating your system with every update if it is running smoothly. but then you must be able to judge whether the update is indeed meant for you or not ! and that takes OS knowledge not the technician level stuff.
In general updating the install will keep it safer and more stable. The chance that the update will harm the install is really small, it's best to install the available updates. Most people on tech sites forget that they are the minority of users worldwide. And most who have real problems are the ones who tinker with it themselves.
i agree , but u remember the build before 17134.1 , i am talking about 17133 it was also an update but it slowed the systems and eventually 17134.1 has to be released.... if one has ample time he may go for all updates and experiment but for me since i have got hold of this build 17134.1 and is going pretty much fine in every sense , i would update only when a CU addresses something at kernel level and or some other performance enhancement at kernel or memory management algorithm changes etc...
17133 was a revoked build, it has nothing to do with UPDATING, how much MSFT wants to call it an update, it is a full upgrade to a new build. It can't be compared with a CU in any way.
Remember, Cumulative Updates are just that, they include EVERY UPDATE which has not been installed. So just install all of them, you will get them anyway.
Fresh install of Win10 LTSB. Installed then uninstalled updates that were accidentally delivered via Windows Update. Now, when I try to use Windows 10 Updates Installer to apply WHD downloaded updates (servicing stack/Flash update/CU), the script reports that "all applicable updates are detected as installed". Clearly something I'm missing is triggering this - the updates were definitely uninstalled, and no longer appear as available to remove in add/remove programs etc. Many thanks for any help, I'm somewhat new to applying updates this way and so would appreciate any input.
Did you reboot after uninstallation? maybe the process was not complete the script check each update .mum file to detect if it's installed
Thanks for the reply. I did reboot after uninstalling the updates, several times. They're no longer showing as installed or on the remove updates page. Obviously something went wrong with the uninstall process - is there any way I can manually remove whatever the script checks for so that I can go ahead and actually reinstall these updates? Thanks again. EDIT: The three updates installed fine by manually running the install files in order. Hope that doesn't risk corrupting anything.
Is it necessary to update Windows 10 when there is new updates? I have been updated before and found out some of my files are missing. How is that?
Don't post such generic info, post the actual list of missing files and what you did to get them missing. It's always best to update.
Is there an equivalent for Win10 to the simplex update "we" use for Win7 ? ( I could not find it, but maybe I missed it, too many posts...) Thanks....
No, there isn't, windows 10 is 3-8 updates (2 for the most current official build at the moment), but you can use WHD for downloading the updates.
