Do ESD versions of Install files increase install duration? There would need to be extra time to decompress, wouldn't there?
1. ESD is not a hotfix. 2. All official build release upgrades by WU are still in ESD format. 3. Iirc, imagex can apply UUP esd files directly. 4. Don't confuse ESD with install.esd.
I was wondering about this as well. I hope Enthousiast can shed some light on this as to why it's not offered automatically.
They usually test Microcode updates for some time and then push them to WU, it took 4 version for Spectre variant 2 patch ro reach to WU. This one is a patch for variant 2,3A,4,L1TF and this is it's second version, probably it will go to WU after some tests.
