Windows 10 updates are cumulative. Therefore, this package contains all previously-released fixes (see KB 3074683). If you have installed previous updates, only the new fixes that are contained in this package will be downloaded and installed to your computer.

Yeah, you don't need KB3074683 anymore since it's superseded by KB3081424

What is the "resetbase" people keep talking about?
And what are the steps to do it?

When you normally install an update, the previous files are stored as backup on the computer if they belong to a previous update, and the original files are always kept. A step further from this is using startcomponentcleanup, which still stores the old files, but in a special manner in that it only stores the differences between those files and the current active file. If the old update is restored, the difference (delta) file is applied and restores the older file.

Resetbase is a step further. It removes all old files, not just superseded update files but the original files as well. So, instead of the base files being the files that came in the installation media (which is always true unless resetbase is used), resetbase will make the current system state as the base state. This saves disk space, but means you won't be able to uninstall existing updates.

You can do it on an active system by typing the following from an elevated command prompt:
    dism /online /cleanup-image /startcomponentcleanup /resetbase

The same can be applied to an image.

    OK, abbodi or anyone really.
Do you know if you have to login via MS acct for the store to try to download app updates?
I know that was the case in 8.x I'm just curious if it's still the case.

Edit: hmm looks like there's an update check button. Dunno if it works in offline mode. It's not finding any updates, currently.
