I never seen M$ mentioning that 3074678 and 3074686 were superseeded by anything. KB3074681 is superseeded by KB3074683 (KB article doesn't mention anything else) KB3074683 is superseeded by KB3081424 (KB article doesn't mention anything else) and KB3081424 is superseeded by KB3081436 (KB article doesn't mention anything else) M$ - if wants to be consistent - have to integrate these two little updates in the major packages, then we can finally forget about monthly update packs and alike.
I think a clue to this decision is in them downloading these files during OOBE portion of setup. If you pay attention, you'll notice it doesn't download the big rollup during that portion. I think they are doing this to prevent a long error-prone update process and just wanted to fix an install issue.
Quite possible. I just started to migrate the pc-s in the family to win10, I integrate the updates to the iso - including these two. Anyway, it's easier to deal with 4 updates (3074678, 3074686, newest flash, newest system cumulative) than 100+ as for win 8.1
It's a dynamic update. They don't usually push them onto live machines. I think it probably downloads for certain ppl doing upgrades who have the "check for updates" option marked. In this case, it's a servicing stack, so it's good either way.
It's only downloaded if you do an upgrade servicing stack = the component that handle and service all other system components (updates)
Download a offline installer Dear, Delete software distribution folder get download KB3081436 by searching with "KB3081436 offline installer" in google. Hopefully this will resolve your problem.
3081440 is the new servicing stack, you want it, but they STILL haven’t fixed the Code: Get-WindowsOptionalFeature -Online|? State -EQ Disabled|Disable-WindowsOptionalFeature -Online -Remove bug…
Got today: - Windows Malicious Software Removal Tool for Windows 8, 8.1, 10 and Windows Server 2012, 2012 R2 x64 Edition - August 2015 (KB890830) - Cumulative Update for Windows 10 for x64-based Systems (KB3081436) - Security Update for Internet Explorer Flash Player for Windows 10 for x64-based Systems (KB3087916)
Sorry if this has been asked before, but how do I install MS DVD Player and where to go to back up the license? BTW I was not offered this even tho I DID upgrade from Windows 7 Ultimate with Media Center (one install even had a button to push to confirm this)
Thank you, I just installed it, it's a cumulative update and searching google or microsoft doesn't bring up anything which is weird. Just my particular observation.
For x64, only three components have changed between the previous cumulative KB3081436 and this latest KB3081438: Code: amd64_microsoft-windows-appx-deployment-server_31bf3856ad364e35_10.0.10240.16433 amd64_microsoft-windows-coreos-revision_31bf3856ad364e35_10.0.10240.16433 wow64_microsoft-windows-coreos-revision_31bf3856ad364e35_10.0.10240.16433 The build number on those have increased a little. All other components remain the same as in the previous update.
Maybe that's what sets the UBR value under the CurrentVersion key (seen with BuildLabEx)- it's now set at 16433. I don't really know though.
