Don't patronzie me or you will be getting the same tone. No s**t, that's why I said "Okay, with KB4551853 somewhat understandable, it is latest cummulative" How am I supposed to do le "internet search" for something I dont know? Imagine you've just installed Windows 10 version X. Now what? Okay, you can search for latest cumulative, it makes sense. Then? How would you suppose to know you need also KB4994174 for example? You cant google it because the information you get will be all kinds of wrong in the first few thousands result with syndicated links to some dumb normie portals like "howtogeek.com" where they spit some surface, locally understood crap. It is good forums like this exist but you can't find information for every windows version and build, said information not always up-to-date because people here share it out of hobby, it is not their job, and lastly, the info is not easy to access, you need to dig often dozens and dozens pages of plain offtop. My question was - how in the hell I'm supposed to know which updates I would need to download for my version after I've installed it top update it offline. How I'm supposed to track further updates past that, let's next in next 2 weeks, which ones will be extra besides cumulative? Enterprise admins somehow do it for their intranet, so there must be some way when official Microsoft history is utterly pointless.
First of all, thx for making stuff so easy Normally i do it manually and liked to try this script (nice code btw, fascinating ) Anyway, small question about the build/OS Build nr... W10UI_8.2 Dism Version: 10.0.10240.16384 When doing it manually, and adding latest Windows10.0-KB4551853-x86 the WIM Info shows correctly: Checked this build, it reports "1158" (KB4549949) instead, on both boot/install.wim. After instaling it's however correctly showing OS Build 1271.
@haz367 since Windows 7, SPBUILD mirror the version of kernel32.dll however, since Windows 10 1903, they changed Dism.exe behavior to set SPBUILD according to UBR registry value (the same one show in winver) Code: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion
de_windows_10_multiple_editions_version_1511_x64_dvd_7223737.iso: Code: <MAJOR>10</MAJOR> <MINOR>0</MINOR> <BUILD>10586</BUILD> <SPBUILD>0</SPBUILD> <SPLEVEL>0</SPLEVEL> ntoskrnl.exe: --- de_windows_10_multiple_editions_version_1511_updated_feb_2016_x64_dvd_8383528.iso: Code: <MAJOR>10</MAJOR> <MINOR>0</MINOR> <BUILD>10586</BUILD> <SPBUILD>0</SPBUILD> <SPLEVEL>0</SPLEVEL> ntoskrnl.exe: --- en_windows_10_multiple_editions_version_1511_updated_apr_2016_x64_dvd_8705583.iso: Code: <MAJOR>10</MAJOR> <MINOR>0</MINOR> <BUILD>10586</BUILD> <SPBUILD>0</SPBUILD> <SPLEVEL>0</SPLEVEL> ntoskrnl.exe: --- And what happended here?
@abbodi1406 That looks all fine = 17763.1217 Then again, the boot/install.wim are coming up as 17763.1158, when installed it's however correct = 1217 Then i tested it manual and both came up as 17763.1158 also, then i did the >> Code: /cleanup-image /startcomponentcleanup /cleanup-image /startcomponentcleanup /resetbase on the boot.wim (index 1/2) and then it comes up as 17763.1217?! I have no idea what happend just noticed it.. Thx for the info
can anyone help? so i have a Windows 10 LTSC 2019 ISO en_windows_10_enterprise_ltsc_2019_x64_dvd_5795bb03 and I integrated hotfixes using W10UI: windows10.0-kb4486153-x64_43ee33b302bfdba470542a128a9ee0b58faa5412 windows10.0-kb4537759-x64_0ae42b59972fe0f14dd9696017e780948cc3600b windows10.0-kb4549947-x64_5e69903a9d0b0323bb0eb81bf361fe0bc1700b75 windows10.0-kb4551853-x64_ce1ea7def481ee2eb8bba6db49ddb42e45cba54f windows10.0-kb4552930-x64-ndp48_3fb9f9a7b72e49707c8c49b4febc171411eca05f everything went well, I was able to install OS 05/20/2020, when I recently checked the updates, it says it installed kb4551853 on 5/26/2020. I thought it already integrated? Your thoughts @abbodi1406? Thanks,
unfortunately, i have deleted the directory after the successful integration and os install. when i checked the OS says 1809 7763.1217 i though i am good so I deleted it. it was after a few days i noticed the update reinstalled
not sure because i only use english language. thanks for the input. i have just installed the same updated ISO on my VM. also integrated the same updates using NTlite. Will observe both installs.
About the SPBUILD 1158/1217 issue Seems when using Dism from the "dism10" folder = Version 10.0.10240.16384 when adding latest CU/1217 update and commit it, the SPBUILD comes up as 1158 (Install gives correct OSBuild) When instead, i use Imagex Version 10.0.19613.1000 on the same test (adding CU KB4551853 --- 1217) and commit the image, WimInfo // SPBUILD comes up correctly as 1217. Nothing to do with resetbase etc...my bad there... Anyways, can someone confirm this? ps: KB4551853 is a weird one anyway...last test didn't see it anymore. It also comes up as 51234MB in size in WUMT
WUMT shows the filesize for all accounts of the update on the WU servers. All updates for it will be released in 8minutes from now. Here is an updates overview for 2004: https://forums.mydigitallife.net/th...st-slow-vb_release.80763/page-16#post-1571109
Okay, that's weirdly convenient. But if updates not yet released for 10.0.19041.246, what did you link then: ?
