I know but regarding the last WinPE update, should I integrate it (even though IIRC you said not to if integrating the LCU)?
@Enthousiast KB4579305 is SafeOS update (aka WinPE), it replace KB4557964 but because it also apply to install.wim, W10UI did not identify it as WinPE update you can call it cosmetic glitch integration was correctly handled
Updated the 2004/9 Updates Overview with the latest Preview CU + Dotnetfx35-48 CU + DU for Sources + new SafeOS update: https://forums.mydigitallife.net/th...-20h1-2-vb_release.80763/page-16#post-1571109
Thanks, but could you tell me exactly what's WinPE/SafeOS and the difference between WinPE and WinRE?
Sorry, it's just that it states SafeOS is not needed when the LCU is already used so I guess I shouldn't integrate it if already integrating the LCU.
When you use W10UI it will integrate what is needed in the correct place. That's one of the reasons i always post the W10UI progress logs, like here: https://forums.mydigitallife.net/threads/windows-10-hotfix-repository.57050/page-520#post-1616310 I will edit the info for that update in the updates overview, to just offline integrate it.
I don't use W10UI to integrate updates so in that case should I integrate both (and the remaining ones) or only the LCU? So, like DU and SSU, WinPE updates aren't offered on WU? Also, what kinds of WU are there, CU, SSU, DU, DotNet CU, EP, WinPE/SafeOS, maybe Spectre/Meltdown and more? Should I integrate them all?
It's like we have to explain all again and again when new updates arrive. Online only the live install will be updated, so no winpe/re updates or du for sources need to be installed, but online you could just leave the updating to WU, it knows best. Offline you can integrate whatever you want, the overview shows all updates available for a fully uptodate ISO.
