Should I integrate the latest Intel microcode update? My PC has an Intel microprocessor but what if I integrate this update on an image and use it on a PC which doesn't have an Intel microprocessor? Would I have any problem?
Integrating/installing microcode updates is up to you, personally i don't integrate them but when online and WU offers one, i let WU install it. The microcode update will recognize the cpu and will be applied when it's a supported one and won't be applied when it's an unsupported one.
I've never noticed WU offering microcode updates. Do you know of a list of affected CPUs? I manually installed the latest microcode update but maybe I shouldn't have done it. Also, are there more updates other than the ones which appear on the Updates Overview and besides the microcode ones?
https://forums.mydigitallife.net/threads/windows-10-hotfix-repository.57050/page-519#post-1616072 No, if there were any, they would have been listed in the updates overview.
Just to be sure, if using MSMG ToolKit to integrate updates, WinPE updates should be copied to <WHD\w10\<Architecture>\WinPE> and not to the <WHD\w10\<Architecture>\SetupMedia>, right?
What's the difference between them and DUs? MSMG ToolKit already has a folder for DUs but also a folder for SMUs.
Maybe ask this in the MSMG Toolkit thread? DU for sources = for updating the ISO:\sources folder DU for CBS = for being dism integrated into the wim files.
I already did. And are WinPE updates the same thing as DU for CBS? The only updates (between all the mentioned ones on Updates Overview) which need to be extracted to the sources folder are the DU for sources, right?
A DU for CBS is like the safeos update, a DU for sources is the cab to be extracted and the extracted files to be copied to the ISO:\Sources folder.
Patches are released on the 2nd Tuesday of each month @ 18:00 or 17:00 UTC or 10:00am PST (UTC−8) or 10:00am PDT (UTC−7). And then the next day is "Exploit Wednesday": That's the day that hackers attempt to circumvent all the security patches released on Tuesday. And then the 4th Tuesday of the month is "Fix/Feature" Tuesday. This is the day that M$ tries to fix features released during the previous month and breaks a bunch of things and calls them "New Features" released for this month. And it just goes on and on forever. It's all downhill from there!
