The files I got after extracting the dynamic update package (.cab) are present in ISO/sources/ though they are old versions. My point is, do I have to update (replace) those files with the ones I got from the .cab so as to have updated .ISO?
Sorry, I was trying to post it long time but was busy with other things. I didn't mean to double post it. The same here, I was busy with other staff. thanks for pointing my error out.
Actually, I was playing with this. Don't use the dynamic update files. It will mismatch your version and cause problems if you copy to your iso. Just let the users download updates if they want the latest dynamic update.
Interestingly I just did a clean install of my LTSB and Windows update installed KB3081444 first then installed KB3081448, Strange
WU won't offer KB3081448 unless this registry value reach 10.0.10240.16464: Code: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Component Based Servicing\Version] "10.0.10240.16464"=... which means that KB3081452 is installed i.e. KB3081452 must be installed to get KB3081448 offered and since WU downloads/install all available/visible updates together, KB3081444 will show/installed first
Between this and the pending status, It's looking like integrating the small updates and doing a resetbase is the way to go. I've taken to integrating the servicing stack post-resetbase, tho, as it seems to balloon the image more if you do it first. It's been testing well, but I still have a lot more testing to do. I've been integrating DaRT as well.
Thats cool, I've never used powershell before, after a clean install what do I type into powershell to get updates ? It will ignore the nvidia driver correct ?
Servicing stack will must always integrated first and since W8.1 update, it never trigger Pending status even if the system is live (as long as there are no other pending updates) the rest doesn't matter much offline resetbase is not idle or useful
I agree that normally you would use servicing stack first. For my circumstances, it makes the image much larger if I do that. I test my stuff thoroughly to make sure there were no problems with any of the updates. There's a method to this madness, tho I'd never recommend it to anyone else as they would likely misunderstand. It seems to be the only way to get all 15 x64 images with the smaller updates integrated and dart in the winre without going over the 4gb fat32 limit for install.wim
may i ask has any one know how to mount windows 10 install.wim and unmount it ?? when i mount i got a error for the wim
