    @SM03

Those are the Legacy Edge leftovers, which you will have to ignore
DoNotUpdateToEdgeWithChromium has no effect on LCU' EdgeChromium

    i don't use Windows Defender

Is there any way to uninstall legacy Edge from official 19043.867 esd? For me, both edge chromium and legacy edge show up. I just want to keep the chromium version and uninstall the legacy.
    A powershell script maybe?

But those traces of legacy edge was not there in my OS before installing the LCU, as my OS (ISO) was clean/free from both of the EDGE, old & new.

So is there any way to deal (delete) with them? or not?

& you said "DoNotUpdateToEdgeWithChromium has no effect on LCU' EdgeChromium", so this means this reg only use to block the update/upgrade path from old EDGE to New C-based EDGE, right?

Also, any idea about why the default browser is changed from chrome to EDGE automatically even when the new edge is not installed literally?

& About defender, I too, don't use that, & that's why am concern about the return of WD as well with every LCU (like EDGE nowadays). As you know/found/posted about edge removal, so asking for the same for WD, if anything you're aware of.

    Thanks, BTW.

Yes Where Theres a Will Theres a Way.
@BAU has a Scripted Solution to Remove SystemApps ie known as Legacy Apps for Win10.

Edit : I forgot to add First Solution by Abbodi1406 to Remove SystemApps just via a Reg Tweak from Offline Wim Index. i am not known where it is but is included in my Offline Debloater Script.

    Show up working?
Legacy Edge is left registered in the OS for compatibility

How did you get it free from Legacy Edge? NTLite?
then just re-remove it the same way

No, DoNotUpdateToEdgeWithChromium blocks geting independant new Edge updates (KB4584642, kb4584229, kb4576754...), which you won't get anymore
it has no effect on LCU or the transfer from Legacy to Chromium

because you removed legacy edge, LCU restored registeration for it

LCU re-adding removed components has no solution
for me, i just disable WD and unregister SecHealthUI app

Yes, NTLited ISO, based on 21H1.1+all the required updates to make it up to 21H2.964 (presently). I removed both EDGE as well as Defender as I don't use any of them.

& I know NTL reinstall would work for my purposes i.e. removing EDGE & Defender that would come & install with every LCU, but my objective is to find a simple yet effective one time fix to avoid/bypass that hassles of running NTL every time after receiving the LCU, & in my this recent test, I can see that EDGE is not installed, if I don't consider that 16KB occupancy with no realtime effect in the system, even if I consider, then I can live with that minimum or near zero impact instead of running NTL reinstall again & again every month, at least once.

& For Defender, yes, it returns & enabled itself in startup via reg entity, but am developing a batch script that would simply remove the registry entry as well as all the WD integrated required files to stop WD running with the system, so that I don't have to do that manually every time once ina while after installing/receiving the LCU.

    Thanks again for your assistance.

once policies are set properly to disable defender (for example, via my ToggleDefender script),
it does not get re-enabled by LCU and also it does not update via WU anymore (until re-enabled)

Stop hovering to collapse... Click to collapse... Hover to expand... Click to expand...
  10. Yes its tested via my script too . Boss i agree with you more then 100 % :)

It's redundant registration, it does not have any real effect

good, then I think I am quite done with MS edge return hassles, at least as of now until I/we can use the exploit & MSFT didn't patch that. The only concern remained that, after installing the LCU, as I mentioned earlier with the screenshot here, the default browser is changed from Chrome to EDGE, so any way to prevent this? Via any reg/GPE/anything else?

Now, about Windows Defender, I looked at the BAU's script you referred here, so now, do I just need to copy & paste it into a notepad & create a BAT file & simply run that? That will do the job?

@mdl052020 as you commented about successfully WD blocking with the script, so asking you too in this regard.

  13. Sorry Friend i havent got any notification as you tagged my username in your comment.
yes i can confirm via toggle defender by BAU no any wd updates will be offered via wu as well it wont get activated even updates are applied to os either via offline method or via online updates.

i too have a Bat Script for this which work as well to disable windows defender permanently so that user will use thrid party av free mind .
User can cross check via executing the command :
    Code:
     Powershell -Command "Get-Mppreference"
which states every disable wd feature is set to true as well every wd enable feature is set to false via LGP tweaks.

    Thanks & Regards :)

The "code" listing on the overview page has some typos. I'm not trying to be nit-picky, just trying to help! :)
    https://forums.mydigitallife.net/th...-2-21h1-vb_release.80763/page-16#post-1571109

    Sometimes the numbers are wrong.
Sometimes there is an upper-case "W" on Windows and other times a lower-case "w".
Sometimes there is an upper-case "KB" and other times a lower-case "kb".
Sometimes the package version number is from the "assemblyIdentity name" in the .mum file and other times it's from somewhere else.
Sometimes the package has a ".cab" suffix and other times no suffix.
Plus there are two versions of KB5001391 (.962 and .964).
---SSU .960 goes with LCU .962
---SSU .963 goes with LCU .964

Navigating these updates can be like trying to navigate a mine field! :bomb:

I see, will fix the incorrect ones.

EDIT fixed the incorrect delta buildnr for the LCU and the spacing in the ssu in the guidance section.

It doesn't help when MSFT releases KB5001391 in the beta channel and then another one in the semi-annual channel. I just can't figure out the thinking behind that. But it happens...

    Thank you.

    1. put all in folder: updates, W10UI.cmd, cdimage.exe & extracted iso
    2. run W10UI.cmd as administrator
    3. press 0 to run ?

0 doesn't register at all to run the W10UI script. Other options do.
I did rename the updates a little bit (should I keep original names?)
Can the extracted iso files be in a subfolder, or top level with all the other files?
Were you saying that the unextracted iso can be used next to the W10UI.cmd?
