The easiest way to make sure windows 10 works without issues is to simply disable windows update and never do any updates until next windows is released. Most of updates Microsoft try to inject into people's pcs are just security updates that won't even protect anybody from whatever ghosts
drew84. perfect. thanks a lot!. I created a folder with the latest cumulative update and 3 more. I put an bat to install all the msus from that folder. all great now. this way Ill not have to expend internet bandwitch everytime I clean install windows 10 on my family computers and my clients. sadly its needed for some internet providers (and sadly its my case)..
yro, Not a problem, I personally re-install Windows with each new Servicing Stack, Keeps everything down to a minimum....
Is there still a reason to install the OOBE kb3081449 update even if Windows is already installed with single user local account created?
Good find- KB3081449 is superseded by KB3093266, so it doesn't appear to be needed at all. Wait for final word from abbodi1406 though.
Just uninstalled it on my system, rebooted, ran WU, system up to date... So it seems it is not needed/required... Time to revise my notes Will also wait to see abbodi1406's thoughts on this, Many thanks Edit: Windows Just notified me to re-install... So it is probably now needed to satisfy WU
Try it. But you can see this yourself by opening the .cabs in the .msu files with 7-Zip and comparing version #'s. This is what's contained in KB3081449 (x64): amd64_microsoft-onecore-codeintegrity-secure 10.0.10240.16462 amd64_microsoft-windows-codeintegrity 10.0.10240.16462 amd64_microsoft-windows-explorer 10.0.10240.16404 wow64_microsoft-windows-explorer 10.0.10240.16404 In KB3093266, those first two are 10.0.10240.16463 and the windows-explorer ones are 10.0.10240.16431, so KB3081449 is superseded (but may be needed still for WU).
Thanks for the above info (Yet another step in the learning curve)... I concur Can confirm that have now uninstalled both and reinstalled KB3093266.... WU continues to push KB3081449 (So yes, probably still needed to satisfy WU)
I am new installed Windows 10. What should I install updates? Kb3093266 installation is sufficient or should I install another update?
So... windows10.0-kb3074678-x64.cab windows10.0-kb3074686-x64.cab windows10.0-kb3081449-x64.msu windows10.0-kb3081452-x64.msu windows10.0-kb3093266-x64.msu
There is also kb3087040 - Security Update for Flash in Internet Explorer (Will be installed by Windows Update if you don't Install)
I have been wondering why there is no support information on those Windows updates by Microsoft. I don't know if people feel the same way I do.
