It's totally Microsoft fault and it happens with any/either of the 5 FXPs (first one came out in 2021-01) this is how they reward the loyal insider users who tested it for them
so, there's no way to manually install the latest FxP, & neither any way to integrate it with ISO as there's no Cab?
Have they done that before? i see that even in Win11 is still handled by Windows updates yeah, they probably can control the features of the Feature Pack with WNF thing
Really... On a running system remove any of the listed FxPs and when windows reboots it will re-apply the FxP files from the latest installed LCU. At ISO updating the LCU will install the FxP it has the files for. As i did announce the other week, remove the FxP update from the updates folder, in other words DON'T use the old separate FxP updates anymore..
that's what I wrote here in my last comment, your comment here clarify that further. After SSU, now it's one less thing to integrate with & will be taken care of by the LCU itself.
Maybe MUI could be extended so it at least attempts to get rid of those rogue FXP KBs, when installing the latest updates on 1904x? @abbodi1406
You mean W10MUI? how so? after further inspection, the lang resources components are included with LCU KB5009596 the only component missing is: Code: Microsoft-Windows-UserExperience-Desktop-Resources (amd64_microsoft-windows-u..e-desktop-resources) to restore that component on cleaned or rebased system, you have to add this sub-package manually Code: source: microsoft-windows-client-desktop-required-package.esd for x64 add: Microsoft-Windows-Client-Desktop-Required-Package04~31bf3856ad364e35~amd64~~10.0.19041.1.mum for x86 add: Microsoft-Windows-Client-Desktop-Required-Package0419~31bf3856ad364e35~x86~~10.0.19041.1.mum
