Thats because Windows is simply no longer Microsoft's priority. They're just coasting. Anything new and exciting will have to come from Linux or Google.
Microsoft is currently working on 2 Windows OS's. Windows 10 & Windows 10X. They are both scheduled thru 2025. There is NO Windows 11.
But it should be Microsoft’s priority, without Windows we can’t use all their Microsoft 365 services. (Or we just buy a Mac, but that’s also not what Microsoft wants.)
That's why they probably don't care about KMS being used by private users - it's not enough of a pain in the back, it's not hurting them enough to really care. If someone would clone the XBox concept, 'nother story.
I hated Windows since 8 until I started learning how to modify install images to include only what I want. I love windows 10 due to this. Every once in a while I hop on a system I don't personally maintain and see the 'stock' start menu, what a f-ing mess.
