Dodgy. To me, the dodgy part is not being clear on fresh installs, what happens after one year, getting a new key or storing hwid info, etc. Even well-respected experts (on MDL and other forums) don't know the exact details on how this will work exactly. Oh well, we'll just wait and see, I guess...
Where have you been, this s**t has been posted countless times now. Microsofts binds your hardware config to their servers after you upgrade, you can clean install whenever you want way past the 1 year.
Do you really think the average user gives a s**t? They see free upgrade and that's all they need to know, that they can clean install or how it works is all irrelevant, they get free windows 10 and that's true.
I still agree. Dodgy... Why not (optionally) supply all the information for the not-so-average (MDL?) user. Maybe in one of those nice "...more info" boxes? Please insert s**t-related reply here.
What you are quoting is irrelevant to the average consumer, we want to know how it exactly works but at the end of the day all you will do is upgrade and it's activated, you reinstall and it's activated. Maybe you are pirating windows and you want to know if you get genuine or not then ofc there aren't enough informations but seriously... it's uninteresting how it does it if it works. I want to know it, but my friends? As if they give a s**t, they know how updates work on their iOS devices and some lucky ones on their Android devices They don't pay anything so why should they pay for a windows update?
Sure, I agree. I guess I'm looking at it more from a (small) business point of view. A small company with a few PC's and laptops, might like to know about the fresh install stuff before upgrading. MS_User: Mijn broer heeft een hijskraan, kunt u mij verstaan?
yep, I'm talking about MSDN enterprises which act like single licenses. Of course companies with VL contracts are treated the other way
well Grabiel is saying insiders will get the upgrade RTM of the version their running...so if your running enterprise thats what u get? dont make a difference to me but i rather run enterprise than pro
Enterprise could not updated automatically because Enterprise is the corporate version of Windows and not in the Shelf's for to buy! What gabe talked about Version were Core or Pro and 32bit or 64bit up from Windows 7 SP1 and/or Windows 8.1 with ALL updates done!
Not necessarily - there will be a retail version: Code: PID: 10002-74488-66499-AA039 Extended PID: 00001-00027-448-866499-00-7177-10125.0000-1572015 Activation ID: ab0b741e-0c08-4242-919b-dbde9e83ef04 Product Description: Win Next Enterprise Retail Edition ID: Enterprise Part Number: X17-36746 Key Type: Retail Eula Type: Retail Group ID: 10002
if MS intentions is only core and pro for free they would not send u enterprise via fast ring to the insiders....in the twit hes saying u get the RTM of what u running.
According to what were make public by Microsoft and also by GabeAul on Twitter, the free Upgrade to Windows 10 will works on Windows 7 SP1 and Windows 8.1 legit installation with all updates done via Windows Update, Enterprise and Volume Licenses are not included in that. If you think that you know it better than Microsoft and GabeAul had published, be my guest! I'll not argue about that, just tell that I trust published information from Microsoft and it's representives but others, which includes WZor and members of MDL, and take everything just as not confirmed rumors if not confirmed by Microsoft!
Also an single Licenses OEM version of Enterprise. Just the Upgrade via Windows Update wouldn't work regarding Microsoft informations! Read what I wrote in post's above that.
