Just to add, I had Windows 7 updated iso that I installed with and I could not get it to do the reserve trick with the cmd script. I did a full reinstall from an original iso and did all updates through WU and the reserve cmd script worked.
so insiders need to remove the insider preview when RTM is release and install a valid 7 or 8.1 to get the free upgrade.....is that what u saying?
So, in that article, they first wrote: Then later crossed out that line and added the edit you mentioned: So this would mean the Insiders would need some extra step to prove they have a 7 or 8 license. How's that supposed to work? As long as your running on the preview, and upgrade all the way to RTM, where exactly does a 7 or 8 license/ key come in? Just from the fact that news websites are crossing out lines and adding edits, I still say MS could have been a lot clearer with all this from the start. Dodgy...
I simply said that you should look at the reported New from Microsoft and GabeAul for to clarify what you want to know Only what THEY said, matters for me!
The MS Rules regarding the Versions are the same for both Insider and 'normal' users' Just read what Microsoft and GabeAul had written already!
this is beginning to sound like more MS BS and theirs is no real free upgrade.....again their going to piss off a lot of the insider tester and many others...im getting a feeling when is all said and done 60% of MS users will be running pirated win10 copies
It's possible, but unlikely, I think. Microsoft isn't going to inconvenience the millions of people who have been helping them beta test Win10 for several months by requiring them to uninstall, reinstall 7/8, and then upgrade to Win10 RTM...!... Gabe Aul let the cat out of the bag prematurely, and then had to backtrack, because they (understandably) don't want people who are not qualified for the free upgrade to sign up as Insiders at the last minute just to get their free copy of the OS. They'd like for those people to pay them something, seeing as how they didn't buy into either Win7 or Win8. Shortly before RTM, at some point after Microsoft shuts down the Insiders program, they'll announce that Insiders will also be able to go directly to to RTM, I would guess.
this is all a very clever promotional strategy....the classical bait and switch....to me FREE is FREE for nothing... for insiders and none insiders....weather u have a valid copy or not....make free for everyone and u will stop your OS piracy....and force all your users to buy your apps in the app store and thats how u make the money....but if your not going to give it away for nothing dont use the word FREE... MS is acting like just another greedy corporation no innovation what so ever.
insiders are nothing more than belly button lint to MS, why would MS offer them anything different than the rest of the world? Insiders, oooo we speshul
Guys, If someone change the hard disk what would then happen to the activation Key? say for e.g. I've upgraded my windows 8.1 to 10 and now I change my hard disk, what should I do?
If you have paid attention to the Windows 10 Upgrade screen, it is clearly stated, that this offer is a "Limited Time Offer" so you can't always install windows 8.1 and then do the Upgrade, beside it is not logical, is it?!
