Windows 10 is free for Windows 8.1 Pro users

    all this is started from this location on your computer: C:\Windows\System32\GWX

    if you want to look better about this splash screen

    ....more if you right click on the win10 icon (task bar)

    i got the message this morning and there is the windows icon in task bar icons

    i have windows 7 premium acer 5732z laptop which i resinstalled windows a few weeks ago and activated with daz

    p.s. just to add the laptop was new with windows 7 premium installed, but i recently reinstalled windows and activated with daz.

    My w8.1 pro now showing the message for upgrade to windows 10 but my windows 7 ultimate who install on vhd disk dont show nothing

    maybe fault because i install on vhd disk and don't show the message on windows 7 ultimate...

    So....i think it doesn't matter if windows are purchased or is activated by "other way" .....:D

    Got the icon notification in office PC (Genuine Windows 7 Pro), but not yet in my laptop (Ms Toolkit Windows 8.1 Pro) :31:

    I have a tablet with Windows 8.1 with Bing, and... nothing... no upgrade notification...

    I have installed every update and I have the notification program installed (C:\Windows\System32\GWX), but... nothing... o_O

    The notification is rolling out slowly, not everyone is having it yet.

    I'm currently running on Windows 8.1 Enterprise activated with KMSpiko, and planning to reinstall Windows 8.1, this time Pro, just for this message :D Would it work? Any of you guys received the notification while being activated by KMSPiko?

    The other way would be to install Windows 7 & activate with The Loader by Daz :rolleyes:

    Is there a free upgrade option for windows 10 insider preview users?
    I don't really want to reinstall windows 8.1 just to upgrade.

    Technical Preview gets updated all the way up to RTM and will be free of charge

    Do I use my legit 8.1 pro cd key to get legit windows 10 pro upgrade?

    Or do I get a new cd key from microsoft?
