So's this mean currently things like MS Toolkit & KMSPico will work to activate 10 ? Not have the potential to if updated but actually currently work.. ?
MTK: Works when Volume key gets installed manually. Will fully support shortly after GA. KMSpico: v10.0.102040 supports Win 10 KMS_VL_ALL: Full Win 10 + Office 2016 support in latest realease (see my sig)
Makes not much difference, since this doesn't mask the gVLK (will always be readable via tokens, even if Retail Key get's installed afterwards). Would be easy to detect as 'illegal' Volume License by MS, but seems they don't care so far.
Link please smiling partner, seen reg hack only and service did not work. What other secrets they have in there for us cows. Regards
So I was wondering about this if I ever have to format my PC or install W10 on a friend's PC(instead of installing W7 and then upgrade to W10). Will it work on the .ISO that WZOR leaked or do I need a VOLUME .ISO?
Ask murph, he showed a pic from Settings lately. There's also a Tweaks thread (although a bit messy by now).
Ya no problems, I'll figure it out, I believe my guide dog wears glasses because of blindness . stay frosty. Regards
How will the OEM Windows 10 machines be activated, would they be also using something similar to Windows 8? i.e. MSDM table
Something that occurred to me.... Why would MS still care if you migrate a Win 10 install to new hardware if they are so liberal about free activated upgrades from just about anything pirated? After all, most users aren't tech savvy enough to migrate a Windows install anyway and it's only going to affect system builders. I posted previously about wanting to test migrating a VM tech preview build to hardware but since I only have VMWare player (free version because I'm a cheap bastard) I discovered just how easy it is to migrate from hardware to VM but just how next to impossible it is to migrate back from VM to hardware. If anyone knows an easy way please tell me and I'll test it. It seems pointless to have a fully activated install that only runs on a VM. But on the other hand...if MS will let me have it for free for the next year it's just academic. Also....if MS decides to surprise all these free upgrades from illegitimate Win 7/8 installs a year later by suddenly deactivating them (as some here have speculated) what difference will it make anyway if the install is still bound to a hardware ID...most power users upgrade their hardware frequently and will need a clean install anyway. So the real question is what happens after July 29, 2016 next year when the free upgrade party is over? I'm guessing we're all going to be back to where we were when Win 8 came out.
