I would imagine any W10 upgrade from a W8.1 KMS activated copy is going to automatically attempt to renew it's activation status once installed using the KMS server registered. So correct me if am wrong, but unless the KMS server has been updated to support W10 it's not going to work.
I don`t think so, upgraded win10 will have his own activation way, I presume it will be tied to Microsoft account + PC HW ID for all ppl that upgraded to win10
I am having a tough time trying to figure out why anybody cares about KMS activation on windows 10 unless you are in the business of building PCs for a living. They are giving it away to half a billion people or more and as long as you have that pc you're covered and any new pc you buy will already have it installed so who cares? Now office 16..that's a whole different story.
The subject line is deceiving, your original post has nothing to do with Win10 KMS... might want to change that for now.
It's certainly possible they have been working on a totally new activation method, but my money is on a revised KMS method requiring new server side keys etc. I guess MDL will find out soon enough when it hits RTM.
Sure there will be KMS or something like that, but upgrade from win 7/8 will be different, you have genuine check which we already passed (pirated or not) and after upgrade to win10 I bet all ppl upgrading with be on SAME activation method (locked to HW ID)
on 7/29 we know we can get 10 and on 7/1 we will also get a new service agreement too (I have a link but can not post it)
Gabe Aul tweeted that Windows insiders were getting updated to RTM, so you may want to update that part of the post.
First of all, not everyone buys complete PCs. Then, some people run VMs. You can figure out the rest.
