@shorty2240 See here: github.com/PFCKrutonium/Windows-10-Login-Background-Changer/issues/173 and check the third post, the post from Syrexide. You may need the newer .pri for updated windows 10 - second link in Syrexide's post. If the lockscreen then still stays black you could just cycle through images via settings - personalisation - lockscreen. Choose images you haven't used before. When the presets under 'choose your picture' show up and you can now select images you have used before, the issue is resolved.
That did it! Thanks. I used that exact .pri in the past but this time I must've got confused.... The only issue I have now is that I can't actually select one of the other lock screen images and apps like weather don't seem to do anything... but beggars can't be choosers
All right, when you can't change your lockscreen image, then try using pictures you did not use before. Just browse your pictures folder for instance via settings -> personalisation -> lockscreen. After five or six choices it should work again. Then the pics in windows\web\screen should work also. Otherwise you could rename the lockscreen images, but that's not really preferable.
Are there any plans to update Background Changer to work on Windows 10525 Insider Preview? I miss my custom background image.
if so, I hope there are 2 versions maintained, or one that works for both? lol. Not everyone is going to 525 until Ms pushes it to everyone. Currently its only for Insiders AFAIK, and not everyone is or wants to be lol
All system updates applied, but I still can't get rid of the grey Blob on the login screen. I tried all options and they all work now except for disabling the account picture. I was able to get rid of it by renaming user.png in programdata\microsoft\user account pictures but the leaves a black square where the picture is supposed to be when using Classic Start Menu The picture on the metro start menu is okay and not blank. Edit: the black square can be removed via a CSM setting. Under skin options, uncheck show user picture.
Check X:\Users\Public\AccountPictures. If there is a folder named S-1-5-21-2004522980-3584838395-1746588208-1001, rename it (I use a simple .bak on the end to keep the name for future reference). logout and check. I'm not sure it does exist without first setting a picture in Account under Settings, but I'm sure you'll follow that ok.
Tried this tool on Windows 10 Pro N build 10240, now I'm stuck with a black screen and can't login or anything. Is there any way I can restore the default one from command line or am I just gonna have to format my computer? //posting from laptop Edit: I've simply decided to format my system.
Yes, the end result is the same which also removes the picture in the Metro start menu. Interestingly, the image changer GUI still shows the grey blob when you change your account picture. It also incorrectly resets the account picture back to the grey blob if you check disable/enable account picture.
Version 1.9 completely took out my lock screen picture--black screen only. None of the solutions to that problem here worked either, including the above one or system restore. Wound up restoring my backup. The little add-ons--like weather--in the lock screen seem to work intermittently.
Ill remove the apply to lockscreen until i have it fixed, until then ill just add the open lockscreen dialog so you can select your image.
Code: - Changelog 0.0.2.0: Removed apply to lockscreen - added option (open personalize/lockscreen) Bug fixes Download link updated.
