Alphawaves: have you had any time to test the losing sign-out ability after a second application of the changer? Sign-out still works after the first application but I'm afraid to try a second for fear that I'll have to do a system restore to recover it. Thanks a lot!
Hi genenioo, i've tried to do as many tests as i can on other machines and i just cant replicate your issue. Was it a clean install of Windows 10 ? Please wait for more members feedback to see if they experience your issue.
No, it was an upgrade from 7 x64 Ultimate. Any idea why the problem doesn't not kick in until the second application (it was also on the first application until v. 2.2, now only after the first)? Again, it's just the sign-out; lock and switch user work fine.
Im gonna do an upgrade on one of my laptops (i have a Windows 7 x64) on a Dell. Ill let you know my findings. Thanks for your feedback.
Small update: I went to try a second application just for the hell of it and after I reverted but before re-applying I went to check that I had a system restore point (it was gone for some reason I wish I knew). But anyway the problem kicked in just after reverting, and before I had re-applied another image (apparently something in the processing of reverting causing this). Just thought this might give some insight. Thanks again!
Alphawaves: pm'ed you with results. For everyone's information--problem solved: Looks like what was happening was that when I was reverting the system would substitute one of several backup .pri files I had in the Windows\SystemResources\Windows.UI.Logon folder, and those backup files had the signing out problem. I solved this by having only the original windows default .pri file as a backup, so when I revert I have a properly working one instead of one with the problem, so everything now works fine after reverting, including signing out.
Please, could you explain, for what this List of 8(!) BMP and PNG files are? Edit: This option is massive confused and btw disableing doesn't work any more.
I have a german version of Windows 10 changing the image I get always this error, it look like a permission problem, it can't write the BACKUP file there. Would appreciate any hint on this. I have administrator privilege Zugriff auf dem Pfad C:\\Windows\SystemResorces\Windows.UI.Logon\Windows.UI.Logon.pri.BACKUP wurde verweigert
Unable to download v2.7. Getting "Something went wrong" error. I'm trying to download very publicly as I don't have a dropbox account. EDIT: After some idle time, when retried it is worked.
Thanks Alphawaves, glad you stuck with it and got this to work for everyone. I love it! Just thought of something, is there a way to change the font color on the Welcome screen? The white is quite washed out with the image I use.
Has anyone found a way to do this for the log in screen in W8.1? I have one PC that I won't upgrade since it uses WMC to record OTA content. I'd love to be able to replace the background color with the same image I use on all my other PC's. I've searched around and don't see where anything is mentioned about it, just that you can change the lock screen itself.
